He even said in thor that he would pay a visit to Thor's pals on earth.
So basically mindcontrolling him would be completely redundant if you wanted him to take over the world.
Yep. I think a lot of it is simply the argument that all Loki wants is appreciation by his father and that Thor and Odin are a buncha dickbags for not giving him some loving.
Regardless I think that the other argument (That Loki's a weak villain) bothers me more than that. The other one is just histrionic bullshit. This one is just based on this need for supervillains to always be the final adversary in a movie and shit.
"Weak"?
In what sense?
Isn't Loki's tragedy that he percieves Odin's and Thor's love as pity?
In the "He's not really controlling everything, why isn't he the top threat by the end" kinda way. Which is...well, kinda stupid because everyone knows that Loki's whole deal is sitting behind and let others do the dirty work
Pretty much, but people keep insisting that Loki's problems would be solved were it not for the fact that Thor and Odin (supposedly) kept him at arm's lenghts, which doesn't make sense since they treat him as if he were family because, for all intents and purposes, regardless of his origin, he is family.
Man, aliens in ME are so superior to humanity that it isn't funny. No wonder they don't get a Council representative: humanity just fucking sucks.
I have yet to see a form of media that has humanity being anything but really inferior to other alien races.
The aliens aren't really inherently superior; they just have a headstart of several thousand years.
Actually, given that humanity gets a seat on the council within 200 years of finding the Mass Relays, I'd say it's them who are portrayed as unrealistically awesome.
Yeah, but what do they do? Each race except humanity is exceptionally good at something.
Because they've spent thousands of years getting exceptionally good at something, while Humanity hasn't even had electric lighting for three centuries.
Point.
The Tau'ri of Stargate top the Mass Effect humans in that respect even.
Also, it's kind of hard to not imagine Dead Space being an AU of Mass Effect.
The Marker could be a much, much simpler version of the Reapers (in that it is capable of being reproduced by humanity) because really, aren't Necromorphs similar to Husks?
Well
fuck, there goes one part of my theory.
The madness induced by the Markers could be a more primitive form of indoctrination, though.
Man, why is this cartoon actually borrowing from Civil War of all things
^ Don't you mean Secret Invasion?
I thought the Negative Zone prison was a Civil War thing.
Went and got Brutal Truth's End Time. Given that it's grindcore, there aren't many individual tracks that are noticeable, but it's incredible to listen through. Also, SOAD's Mezmerize. More good stuff, and it's a damn shame they broke up, when they were making music like that.
Oh. Neat.
The Earth Alliance on Babylon Five have to rotate their space ships to create gravity and they got pasted against an alien race in the backstory.
Well, on summer break now. Which means I actually have consistent access to a computer now, so... yay?
Stupidest things I’ve done to myself: Reread that Spider-Man issue where he meets with the Fantastic Four and they remember Johnny
Hey it ended on a high note with all of them remembering what Johnny meant to them and deciding to honor his memory.
Question to those with better knowledge of modern non-classical music genre names:
How accurate is it to say that the difference between metal and rock is that metal more frequently features the electric guitar as a melodic instrument?
Well, yeah, but still, man that speech at the end.
Just...that speech.
goddamnit double post
There's also basically the fact that Loki's the sort of person who always blames someone else; blame Odin for killing his father and taking him in, blame Laufrey for his bad genetics, blame Thor for hogging all the glory, blame Asgard for having an unrealistic warrior ideal, blame the Avengers for beating him that one time and dooming his life into failure...
In certain ways, he is right that all these had a hand in molding him, but he chooses to focus on what others have done to him instead of what he can do to and for others.
Okay I'm watching the old 1994 Spider-man cartoon and it's supposed to be terrible, but so far I don't see what's so bad about besides lol ninties animation.
