    So which has the worst dub between these three very culture-specific series: K-On!, Lucky Star, or Excel Saga?

    Haven't watched Excel Saga at all, and haven't watched the more than like one scene each from dub of K-ON! or Lucky Star, so... I really can't comment on that.  BUT I WILL ANYWAY!


    K-ON! has more than zero voice actors from the Ika Musume dub, so that's probably the worst of the three.


    Furthermore, Lucky Star mostly relies on references to otaku media, so as long as it doesn't try to change the references to other things, it should make just as much sense in any language (since being an English speaking anime fan doesn't mean you're less likely than a Japanese anime fan to have seen the things they reference, for the most part).  Also, it actually went out of its way to make the voice actor references to Haruhi make sense in the English dub too.  So basically, Lucky Star's jokes actually probably make sense in English, so it's probably, like... actually not a bad dub.

    Lucky Star dub is good. I can't compare it to the sub since I've seen the whole series dubbed and like half an episode subbed, but the dub is good. Well, except Patty (who might alone be enough reason to prefer the sub, even if she isn't really that important).
