I found it funny that in Supergods he said that New X-men was part of an accidental ritual to summon the planes crashing into the twin towers.
Is his Ultimate X-Men good?
Morrison didn't do Ultimate X-men to my knowledge. Only 616 X-men.
There was that bit where Ellis wrote an Ultimate Iron Man mini and phoned it in for an excuse for Tony Stark to fight Master Chief look alikes and robots controlled by dog brains.
Man I need to work on that fanfic where a bunch of Spartan training kids sit around one night and debate the true nature of Master Chief.
So, like Legends of The Dark Knight with Halo?
Also, all of Ellis' Ultimate work is terrible. Remember when he made Doctor Doom a descendant of Dracula that just wanted to make his daddy happy?
Pretty much.
Hey his Iron Man mini was fun once you accepted it was an excuse for Iron Man to beat up knockoffs and ridiculous enemies. You know to be comic booky as opposed to normal Ultimate Marvel fare of grimderp ridiculous, jerks everywhere or decompression and lots and lots of talking.
I'm feeling good today. Too good actually. So I decided to make myself feel bitter by reading YouTube comments.
WHY?
if it involves Vampire!Doom, then I'm in for the cheesiness
No there isn't. Ultimate Doom is just lame. He has the talk of the original, but none of the charisma and spark of the original.
murrr
is there a world where doom gets to be a vampire
seriously, i'd totally read a Fantastic Four story where Doom's a vampire. Or better yet, a Fantastic Four story where Doom is Dracula and Reed is Van Helsing.
Let me put it this way. Ultimate Fantastic Four rips off the movie and does it even worse.
^If I ever write for Marvel I'll make it happen for you.
Fuck the wheels are already turning in my head.
Well no, but there was that bit in Exiles where Hank Pym, Tony Stark, Reed Richards and Curt Conners build giant mecha to fight kaiju. That was great.
I liked Ultimate Fantastic Four. Their Doom didn't exactly have the villain cred of 616-Doom, which was why it was weird when he suddenly revealed himself to be the mastermind behind two separate yet concurrently running plotlines. But aside from that Doom was still a good character and the series was still a good series, at least in my opinion.
Marvel just needs more toku.
Fuck I remember when the dude I'm now playing a Vampire game was originally doing a DCU game and I was trying to convince him to let me play Kamen Rider.
I liked most of Ultimate Fantastic Four, mostly because of their New Gods homage with Seed 19.
Which I felt was the coolest thing ever.
The whole cosmic cube arc you mean? Also Ultimate Thing and Human Torch were fun enough. It's just that the series suffered from dumb moments like alternate verse zombies or body swap spells or Reed mentally projecting Sue's mother naked onto the energy construct he was using to save New York.
The build-up to the Cosmic Cube arc.
And yes, that was dumb too.
Apparently Hiddles is in with the "Loki is a misunderstood guy" crowd.
Who isn't in that crowd?
He is a misunderstood guy, yes, but they kind of downplay the fact that he is a murderous bastard who tried to genocide an entire race for a really arbitary reason.
...kinda like Eridan
Oh hey, vandro, people were talking about Hakumen from BlazBlue and I was thinking of you.
I'll resort to whedon dialogue:
"He killed eighty people in two days"
"He's adopted"
EDIT: Goddamn it, that thread moves too fast.
...your point?
The point is: There's no point denying Loki is a bad guy. He is also a misunderstood guy.
Yeah, but these people are downplaying the fact that he is a bad guy.
And the misunderstanding he gets is partly imagined.
I thought Hiddleston was the one who explicitly called Loki a villain and denied the argument of mind control that a lot of people are using to justify their boners for him.
Who would mind control him? Isn't he a master sorcerer?
He is on Earth-616, but that might not be the case on Earth-199999.
And anyway, he displays characteristics that are consistent with his portrayal in Thor. If he were mind-controlled, he wouldn't do that.
the theory is that the hooded Chitauri dude is controlling him and that he doesn't really want to conquer earth and blah blah blah bullshit. Loki might be a tragic character but his tragedy is that he simply can't stop trying to aggravate Thor because he's stuck in an endless dance until the end of days comes. Plus, the whole being adopted thing
^ That is especially stupid considering that in Thor he had no qualms with blowing up the Jotun planet, which is kind of even worse than conquering Earth.
And he definitely wasn't mindcontrolled then.
