Hmm. I'm about to return over twenty CD's to a local music store, so I figure I'll have some decent store credit racked up. But I can't think of anything to buy other than the two Mastodon albums I don't already have hard copies of (ironically, they're my favorite two CD's by them). Any suggestions?
Hey guys
can I get your opinion on something?
no
go away
Aw man, really?
Ask away?
u can get my opinion in aything u wannt *glomples*
OK, so I'm about to reveal this really, really big part of who I am to pretty much everyone I know.
How do I go about this?
^ I'll let someone else take that. I'm not exactly experienced there.
I was being facetious. Of course you can ask. Sorry if I came across as serious.
And like Forz, I'm not really sure about it. If you're absolutely sure of what you're doing, though, then I say get it out of the way. Be honest and forthright.
Depends on the thing.
I knew you were Alex, it's just that this means a lot to me and I don't find it funny when someone jokes about it.
(although it is kinda hard to take me seriously when I'm wearing this creepy girl avatar, granted)
To be fair, when Alex made the joke it wasn't exactly clear how serious the thing you wanted to ask was.
Yeah...I'm getting a wee bit too emotional about this.
I'm an atheist, and I wanna make it public.
Trouble is, I have a LOT of friends and relatives who are die-hard Christians and they might not take kindly to this. That's OK: whenever you state an opinion, it is always going to be challenged. But I can't just keep quiet, can I?
Personally, I don't see how anyone could justifiably take offense to that, as long as you aren't overly emphatic and you state your viewpoint in a matter of fact fashion. I think it's just a matter of finding the right time, or something. Hope that helps.
On a brighter note, I've liberated myself of 27 CD's I wasn't gonna listen to anymore, and now have all of Mastodon's studio albums in physical copy, plus Trivium's only good album, Shogun, at the price of roughly half the store credit I earned for the aforementioned 27 CD's.

Meh, emphasize the standard points: you have discussed it extensively with people to come to said conclusion, you have been an atheist for a long time now, you don't want to make a big deal out of it and you don't need to believe to see the value of J-bro's lessons and the social function of church. Anyone who hassles you afterwards is not worth socializing with.
Eelektross - I would avoid bringing it up except when strictly necessary, like if they invite you to some Church function or something. If you really feel you need to get it out in the open, I guess talking to them aside once would be fine, and then politely stopping the conversation if they try to argue with you.
So I hear the Democrats are probably going to lose the recall elections. Anyone know more about this, because this kinda sucks.
Well in Wisconsin a lot of it has to do with the fact that Walker has managed to make himself super popular with the base and has a stupidly large sum of money to throw at making attack ads against Barret which is slamming the guy's popularity ratings. It also doesn't help that policy wise, Barret is admitting he can't really do too much to reverse Walker's policies until 2013.
Really what it will come down to is who can get the most people to go out and vote since there are hardly any undecided voters in my state.
So I've watched six episodes of Baccano! today, and it's not even 7. At this pace it's not going to last much longer, so...someone suggest me another animu to watch.
Forget what I said earlier, I'll try to stick around. I'm getting used to using a partially-working computer. Although I won't be on here as much as I used to, because I'll be quite busy for a while.
Speaking of which, I just finished my grad paper. When I asked how long should it be, all I got is "as long as you can". It is 35 pages and 1600 words long, which I just figured out is enough for a master's dissertation. O_o
^^Durarara!! It's set in the same universe, and is slightly better plot-wise in my opinion.
That would be the obvious thing to do I suppose. I was thinking of just going that way, but I also would kinda like something that's more of a change of pace. (Though I certainly intend to watch Durarara!! eventually.)
If you're not into the idea of immediately hopping onto Durarara!! (which, yeah, you should definitely watch at some point, since it's much better than Baccano! (in my opinion), if a bit slower), I'mma take this opportunity to plug the delightfully fucked-up Welcome to the N.H.K.. You'll probably be fine with watching either the dub on YouTube (hopefully they still have it) or subs. The dub voice acting was a bit worse than I remembered, overall, but Chris Patton, who voices the main character, is phenomenal. Can't comment on the original Japanese.
Durarara!! has been on my watchlist longer than Baccano! has actually. I just picked up the latter on impulse because people were talking about it here. I'm quite enjoying it, but I think it seems a bit overrated nonetheless.
Chris Patton is a cool guy; I liked him in other things. NHK doesn't really interest me very much though.
Training went well (Lasted less than an hour today, though). My first shift (and when I get hands on training) begins tomorrow at 11 and lasts until 2
You know when you stop to think about it, Eureka Seven is about trying to keep a bunch of alien coral from thinking too hard about life, the universe and everything so they don't accidentally break the universe.
Anime everybody.
