    OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!

I actually liked the beginning. It was more some of the middle bits that bothered me.

Did either of you read the manga?

  • I actually enjoyed seeing Hei without his powers. It truly allows you to see how deadly he was even before he got the power to manipulate electricity. He's definitely earned the fan nickname of Batman, indeed.

  • a little muffled

    @INUH: Which manga?

@ninjaclown; I agree with that; I didn't really mind seeing him without his powers, but I can understand how people would've felt it was just an excuse to give less focus to him and more to Suou.

    OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!

^^I did like seeing him powerless.

^The one that covers what happened between Season 1 and the OVAs. Hei actually gets to use the [expanded powerset] he learned about at the end of Season 1 a little, which is pretty cool.

    a little muffled

Which one is that though? I didn't read either of them anyway.

If it's the one that's out in NA, I might read it.

  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!

I don't know which one is out in NA. The Japanese title was Darker than Black: Shikkoku no Hana.

  • a little muffled

That's the one that isn't. I can't stand reading manga on a computer screen, so I'll pass.

MAL claims it's actually an alternate universe, incidentally; I dunno if that's bullshit.

  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!

    Really?

Huh...I can't recall anything that would make that the case...

Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!

    third-person

combat centres around hotbars activating skills

    attacks have cooldowns

    Yet another WoW clone. Lovely.

might look into it if it's free-to-play. Otherwise, not likely.

Why do they even think that will succeed? There are currently two hugely successful established MMOs in that genre, and it's a completely different playstyle to TES. So who are they marketing this toward? People who are too busy with something else, or people who don't like that playstyle?

  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!

Truthfully as much as I loved the movie, Hawkeye was probably my least favorite part, mostly because he was the most tacked on as all the build-up we got was that stupid scene in Thor.

That said, all the other action was amazing. The final action scene in particular was great.

  • You can change. You can.

Honestly, I kinda liked Hawkeye, if only because Renner actually manages to give a good performance along the rest of the team, but you're right in that he was the weakest link (Alnogside Black Widow. Seriously, Scarlett Johansson can't act. It's weird. She delivers everything in this really bland voice. Bluh)

  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!

Hmmm, I know some people haven't seen the movie yet. Should we make a thread to not take over updates?

  • a little muffled

When I suggested that it was met with a rather negative reception...

  • edited 2012-05-04 17:59:59
    You can change. You can.

    The deed is done.

^At the time, only two people have seen it. I think that now the number is up to five and the movie is about to be released, it makes sense to do it now

  • a little muffled

Not like threads go away after a week or something. I guess you're right though. Still appreciated on my part as I've still got to wait two days for it.

  • It took a whole week, but I finally was able... to purchase a screwdriver.

Anyway, reseating my ram didn't do anything, so my computer's still not working.  Gonna bring it to a computer repair place I guess and see how much it'd cost to fix.

Ah, my dad just reminded me of some more of his racism

He said something a few years ago (and knowing him, he still believes it) about how the Chinese don't respect life anywhere near as much as anybody in the west, so that culture leads to more dangerous gang members as, to them, life is expendable

I can't think of any context that I may have forgotten that would make that sound better
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

    Who'll be next?

me, when i get into martial arts or somethin'

if u do convins fashist akwaint hiz faec w pavment neway jus 2 b sur

^^ Eh, this morning, my mother has told me of a nightmare she had. Namely, a horde of yellow ants was marching from China towards Serbia, turning the surroundings gray, people into robots and destroying all creativity as they were passing.

  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!

So, out of curiosity, I looked up how many rings it takes to make a hauberk. For reference, the bag I made contains 981 rings and took me three days to make. A hauberk takes around 24000 rings.

    That's...that's a lot.

(Alnogside Black Widow. Seriously, Scarlett Johansson can't act. It's weird. She delivers everything in this really bland voice. Bluh)

From what I've seen, Johansson can act. She's either just playing the Widow as a seriously bored person, or she is bored.

Well the party still holds a lot of power, even if they've lost all cultural influence and they only retain the power of government.

  • You can change. You can.

My quick memory only brings up Vicky Christina Barcelona, which had her as a dull person while Penelope Cruz was balls to the wall insane and...i'unno. can't recall anything else

  • No rainbow star

^^^ Well of COURSE a chain mail shirt would take a lot of rings :P

  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!

Well, yeah. But still...24,000. A project with 981 took me three days. Wow.

  • if u do convins fashist akwaint hiz faec w pavment neway jus 2 b sur

Well, blacksmiths weren't so highly respected back in the Middle Ages for no real reason.

  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human

He said something a few years ago (and knowing him, he still believes it) about how the Chinese don't respect life anywhere near as much as anybody in the west, so that culture leads to more dangerous gang members as, to them, life is expendable

I've never even heard of anything like this before.

Are you sure he's not confusing "Chinese" with "communist" and "communist" with "Stalinist" and "Stalinist" with "omnicidal maniac"?

  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!

^^Yeah. I didn't even make my own rings. I can't even begin to imagine how much work an actual blacksmith had to do.

  • No rainbow star

^^ I'm pretty sure that in his mine, Chinese and Communist are the same thing

Funnily, he sometimes shows admiration for the Chinese because they wouldn't put up with liberals and so on

...He makes no sense to me at times

In other news, HOW THE FUCK DO PEOPLE CUT OUT STUFF SO PERFECTLY IN PHOTOSHOP!? >.< Fucking jpeg...

And theirs had to stand up against actual weaponry, so they couldn't half-arse anything.
