  • My bottled up anger came out. Uuuhhh..yay?

  • You can change. You can.

I sometimes wonder if I suffer from Impostor Syndrome. Then that insecurity turns into me considering Dunning-Kruger syndrome. After that, I wonder if being able to "diagnose" this at all means either impostor or dunning-kruger syndrome.

  • I'd say you selectively pick occasions that suit either diagnosis depending on what mood you're in. I mean, everybody does that from time to time. Most generic advice ever, but talk to others about, and if the pattern persists see a psych.

    Psst, joke, mon.

  • So hungry.
  • And the best way to kill it is taking it seriously. Besides, even if you joke about it it probably has some foundation in legit angst. Alternatively, I had too many root beers to detect sarcasm.

  • I like root beers.
  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human

I like stem wines and leaf ales.  However, flower whiskeys are right out.

  • We have reviewed your resume' and we find you delicious.
    You're all so mainstream.

Chloroplast rum is where it's at.

Yeah, there's a degree of angst in there. --shrug-- I really don't care that much about my own capabilities, to be honest. I just care about doing something and getting a benefit.

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

Listening to Standing In The Way makes me want to watch Buffy again.

  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!

So I was really considering getting Legend of Grimrock, but then I found out that the dungeon wasn't randomly generated and you can just save whenever with no permadeath, so...never mind, then.

And now I am considering watching (or rather, reading, and waiting for the movie of) this, hm.

  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!

There's a movie? I thought it was just a play?

Huh. Interesting. The play was really good, but I don't plan on reading the book. I wonder how the marching band kids'll react (played selections from Wicked in 2007).

I've wanted to watch the play, but, you know, australia.

  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!

From what I heard the book is not as good as the play, but I don't really like 'from the villains' point of view in a beloved story' books like Grendel and such, so...

Really, it should not be hard at all to guess my motivation for wanting to watch it.

  • Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
I like the concept, but the book was... weird.

I'd like to see the musical, though.
  • a little muffled

I enjoyed the musical, though it was ages ago that I saw it. Never read the book.

Yeah, I didn't want to read the book because I'd heard it tried too hard to make the Oz universe dark and shit, and couldn't imagine it was too well-written.

But I still enjoy certain parts of the soundtrack to the musical, even if not the entirety of it. "Defying Gravity" and "For Good", in particular, are amazing songs.

Also, I read The Black Prism yesterday. The new book by Brent Weeks, the guy who wrote the Way of Shadows series.

It was fairly enjoyable, I guess, although I really, really didn't see the point in the scenes with the guy in the prison who was pissing in a bowl he'd carved into the floor in an effort to get out. Those scenes went on for pages at a time and they were gross

  • Tri arrived today. Trying to use the online to see what I can do.

I'll probably go back to the offline mode to practice.

  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!

Weeks seems to enjoy his crass bleak humor.

Is it as good as Way of Shadows?

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

I... don't find it to be as enjoyable as Way of Shadows.

Gavin is a good protagonist, but I find the supporting cast in this series to be a lot more annoying than in WoS.

That said, the magic is definitely a lot more interesting.

  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!

Magic in WoS was mostly an explanation for why Durzo (and later Kylar) could do cool magic things.

That said, the weakness of supporting characters is disappointing since the expanded cast made the trilogy a lot of fun, especially Momma K.

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

Well, the magic in this series is mostly based around light, and the colour spectrums. A lot of what they do with it is pretty interesting, up to and including locking the aforementioned prisoner in an entirely blue prison so that he can't draw anything but blue magic. Uh, until he cuts himself and gives himself a fever so that he can draw red from himself.

  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!

    Wait...

Is Brent Weeks writing the Green Lantern corps?

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

blue = calm, order, rational-logical thought.

green = wildness, freedom, berserker rages

So, no. The colours don't match up with that.

Plus, the colour spectrum they use is weird. Sub-red, red, yellow, green, blue, orange, super-violet.
