Very worth it. It's a great game, and the collector's edition has all the DLC, the soundtrack, a bonus booklet thingy, and some other stuff, and the PC version seems to have stuff that wasn't in the Xbox version.
I'd have payed $30 for it even if it weren't the collector's edition, though, and I already own it.
The Mass Effect 3 trailer just said In the not too distant future...
No way that's unintentional.
Woo, my book came today from the US.
Killing Hope - US Military and CIA interventions since WW2.
Pretty depressing/anger making reading.
^ Ian - I think the clue might be in the title, there.
But I know what you mean. And if you really want to end up as a total nutter, there are all the conspiracy theories connected to the CIA's activities on top of the documented history.
^
Yeah I knew what I was getting into roughly, but the actuality of reading all about it is something else.
I think I'll avoid the conspiracy theories and stick to the documented stuff, there is more than enough of it.
I love this man.
(yes, I realize it's kind of old, but I hadn't seen this video until just now)
I'm thinking of running an Exalted RP now.
Everyone here is pretty much loaded up on RP's, but hey, Kraken said he wouldn't mind, so w/e. I'm sure I'll find two or three other people who want to play.
I'd be in, since I've wanted to try Exalted for awhile, but...I'm currently in...four RPs?
PTA, CoC, and, uh, what?
I mean, Riddle of Steel won't get off the ground for a while.
And it will be a PbP game, which with only three or four players, should be manageable.
PTA, CoC, CoC, RoS.
And there was also that Vampire game that I really, really wish one more person would sign up for
Two CoC games?
Anyway, if you don't want to overburden yourself, that's fine. You might be turned off by the concept anyway (basically, it's high-fantasy-esque, which means mostly everything's morally black and white, although there are several shades of grey set over the campaign that maintain some moral ambiguity, although you're fighting a big bad evil god anyway).
Yeah, I'm going to be running two campaigns, right? :V
Oh. I just count them as one.
Two timeslots and eleven players.
Though I haven't started yet, so I can't really comment on the workload just yet.
This is why I'm gonna run it by PbP, so that there are flexible times.
Yet I still wouldn't mind more campaigns. I think I'm addicted
I just have noting else to do with myself
And I like the sound of Exalted, so.
But it makes me want to try the D&D game here, so I can be up there with Cygan, INUH, Alex, and Malk. Less asshats who'll attempt to sign up, and I can specify, beforehand, that anyone who can't make it on Saturdays won't work (no offense, Firebert; I know better than to hold it against you that you have a life, but I figure it'll work better for people who don't have lives, like me. :P), and stuff like that.
Also, I think I'm going to just bow out of the Vampire game, so you'll have to find two.
^^^JC?
Hmmm...I'm now wondering, given the posting rate of PbP, if it's possible to be in more than one at a time >.>
Yes. Usually, you'd only be expected to post a few times a day.
The good thing about PbP is, schedules don't matter so much.
Of course, that only works well with a small group of 3 or 4.
He shouldn't have. I'm looking at the books and everything on Exalted, and it's not nearly like he described it.
It's not basically an anime. Rather, it's what happens when everything gets scaled up; the enemies are beefed up, but so are the PC's. It gives everything a sense that it's happening on an epic scale, rather than the more personal feel of D&D- but that's good if you're gunning for a sense of high fantasy.
Essentially, it's a mythic fantasy game. Everyone is a demigod, with awesome powers. The game revolves around being awesome, but in a logical, controlled sense. Things don't just happen because it's cool, they happen because you make it happen.
It's a furry tabletop
Well, true, although that's not how the PTA and CoC ones are working...
That's because those games are essentially IRC games but run on a forum instead of IRC.
That's because everyone's schedule ended up wonky and nobody was posting, so I had to pull together a schedule to ensure people posted.
If I find people who are awake for a few hours on the same days, though, like Kraken and I usually share the same hours, then that's not as much of a problem.
Well, I don't have any definite interested parties except for Kraken at this point :V
That said, three players are my lower limit, and four my upper.
Kraken has dibs on the first position, so... two to three positions are up for grabs.
I'd be a potential interested party.
I guess that's one or two extra players then :V
I may actually go PM you and Kraken about this, to stop filling this thread up with its' chatter.
Hurm, now Cygan has me wondering how many people would be interested in playing a game of Scion: Hero which is basically the game of being the son of a god from various pantheons and working your way to godhood.
