See, I don't mind the magazine at all, but I would have felt a lot better if it had come with an acceptance letter (or not at all, if I hadn't been accepted).
EDIT: Also, I got tired of Bakemonogatari not working out for streaming, so I torrented it. Amazingly, it finished before I returned from swimming.
>People draw nude people here all the time
>Still have no idea what is and isn't worksafe here
Bleh...
Edit: I mean, obviously porn for the sake of porn is off limits, but what if I'm looking for a certain pose to draw and bleh x.x
Everyone.
Go watch Troll Hunter.
Did it a few weeks ago :P
Good.
What an excellent movie.
Indeed. I was expecting the held-camera thing to be a way of not showing much of a badly-done special effect, but...nope, really well-done effects with the camera steady on them.
And that's not even the best thing about it
I love its reverence towards folklore and fairy tales while engaging in a bit of affectionate mockery, too. And In The Hall Of The Mountain King was a lovely touch during the credits.
I loved the bit where the question of Muslims gets brought up, and they basically all just go "eh, whatever."
And then the movie refuses to answer the question!
I'm not sure how much further I can go without spoilering spoilers. Oh wait.
The movie made a great call by bringing back the bite. And at first I thought the whole "Christian blood" thing was a gag throwback to folklore, but it was actually played for drama and worked great.
Yeah, the movie as a whole more-or-less restored my faith in the found footage concept.
Likewise. After the disappointment that was Cloverfield, I was in this for Norskfaggotry and foklore. While I certainly expected this to at least be entertaining, I ended up being blown away by the skill with which this film was put together.
I know. Everything about it was just...wow.
Especially the bit with the out-of-context Prime Minister interview.
>$3.99 for a pint of ice cream to go with dinner
>worth it
I fucking loved Trollhunter. I like how the shaky cam wasn't used as an excuse to hide lousy effects and choreography.
I should rewatch it at some point soon.
Also I keep looking in the magic thread and it must have been a more strenuous day than I though because I'm just not in the mood to parse through everyone's words and make counterarguments.
I must be ill or something.
Also, when Hans gets fucking right-hooked by the troll, I lost my shit. Christ that was out of nowhere.
I really don't have a problem with the style, but so far only it and Chronicle are the only found footage movies I've really liked. I think. I'm probably forgetting something.
Cloverfield wasn't great, but I didn't find it as bad as most people make it out to be.
I need to see Chronicle. I hear it's good.
Cloverfield was pretty technically borked, not even talking about storytelling.
District 9 was okay but the fact that the action scenes dropped the documentary aspect is pretty telling.
Oh, yeah, I forgot District 9 was even supposed to be found-footage >.>
Also, the first time I saw a preview for it on TV, I was tired and not really paying attention, and my first thought was "That Akira movie is already finished?"
I dunno that I'd call District 9 a found footage movie, considering only like the first twenty minutes and the end are documentary. It's just shaky cam.
Welp
Funny, I've been wondering how much longer I'm going to be stuck in the USA lately :P
No offense meant to Juan or Colombians, but I doubt your plan is to move to Colombia, INUH.
Fair enough, though I doubt he's heading to Alabama.
But i really wanna get out of here, so anything is good for enough for me

Seriously, pick mainland Europe. I hear the Swiss are especially tasty this time of year.
