What's the best VN you've read?

Seems like I've seen you post more about Umineko, despite your preference for the Higurashi avatar. Hence my uncertainty.

I haven't read either of those in their entirety. For Higurashi, it's because I've seen the anime, and knowing where it's going makes the VN less exciting. For Umineko, it's because I wanted to liveblog it, and that made it feel more like an obligation than something I was doing for fun.

I never finished Umineko. I stopped around the sixth arc, basically because I felt like it was getting too big and confusing and weird and kind of crushing itself under it's own weight. I'm going to give it another shot sometime, since I figure I was probably going into it with the wrong mindset to enjoy it properly.

And I thought Higurashi was so much better than the anime in just about every way that I really didn't care that I knew what was going on.

I only got past the prologue of episode 2 of Umineko.

And yeah, the Higurashi VN is infinitely better than the anime. I think it was more that I got distracted >.>

I guess you don't like visual novels. And well, not liking the characters is a deal-breaker there, though gotta hand you that.

I don't like them. I don't like digital reproductions of books in general, but having to listen to things as I read turns me off due to lolproblemswithsoundsaffectingmyconcentration.

Same reason I have trouble watching movies/shows for extended periods of time.
