But is it the last time?
>Using spellchecker
I'm in the Burg. I beat my head fruitlessly against Sauron for a little while, then gave up and got fucked by the Tauros guy pretty quick.
Wanna know how to defeat the Taurus Demon with relative ease?
Behind you there's a tower where two undead fellows are shooting you. Before you trigger the Taurus, climb up the ladder and deal with them. Climb back down and trigger the damn thing and then run like hell back up the ladder. When he's at the foot of the tower, you can do a plunging attack that deals heaps of damage. After that, escape from between his legs and lure him about halfway across the bridge, avoiding an attack and going back to the ladder. Wash, rinse, repeat, slay demons.
Alternatively, if you picked up the dust that empowers your weapon with lightning damage, that fucks him around something awful. He hates fire, too. Lightning and fire will be two of your greatest allies in this game -- most enemies are weak to at least one of those.
Also, what's titanite? I just got a couple large shards an a twinkling from this weird worm thing I found in a barrel.
Wait, why the hell is there a trooper class in The Old Republic?
Who the hell plays a Star Wars game and decides they want to be the faceless guys that never hit anything they're aiming for?
Titanite is the reinforcement item, it is for crafting and upgrading weapons.
And it's because variety. It wouldn't be any fun if it was ALL LIGHTSABERS ALL THE TIME.
^ Awesome. And what exactly is the point of humanity?
^^ Also armour.
It's often a better investment than more levels for pure damage output or defense upgrading.
^ Jedi Academy's multiplayer wants a word with you.
fucking hell
I just got roasted by a dragon out of fucking nowhere
^^^^There are plenty of gun-toting characters that don't have lightsabers that aren't faceless and boring. Boba Fett, Zam Wessel, HAN FUCKING SOLO.
I get there are probably stat benefits but from a lore perspective it seems really silly to use the 'canon fodder' archetype as a primary class.
Humanity is tricky, it means you have higher curse resistant and defense, the more humanities you have, the more your curse resistance will increase, also defence, but you first need to be unhollowed, and when you take human form, you can summon people and be invaded.
And you aren't really a canon fodder trooper as one of the elite badasses. Like the troopers from Republic Commando.
And anyway, it makes sense to have a class that's focused on the Republic military, with the whole war with the Sith thing going on.
^ Ok.
You might one of the elite badasses, but you're still an elite badass with one of those tin cans over your head. I get the war going on, but there was a war going on in all the Star Wars movies and they focused on those troopers as little as possible.
Republic Commando is kind of just an extension of my complaint, taking a pseudo-mystic, spectacle-fueled space opera and jamming in military sci-fi because that's what the kids like these days.
Why do I spend so much fucking time talking about Star Wars...
Also, sacrificing humanity will make the fires at the bonfires burn more fiercely, which translates as more estus flask. Up to 20.
hey malk
let's discussion the potential application of real sword technique in star wars media
that's always a good discussion right
I've played a Trooper, and it's a lot of fun. I don't have any problem with it being there.
^ dear god in heaven noooo
I haven't played it and I'm probably going to play a Trooper so I can run up to a Sith Lord and rifle-butt him in the face.
>Malk and Madass engaging in starwars swordsmanship debate
Fuck you guys I will kill a kitten if you guys start this!
And like that Alex has shut me up.
what do
Get to the middle, run down the stairs, and return to the bonfire at Undead Burg, it has a ladder where you can climb down and up as a shortcut, then get yourself a bow and hit it like a bitch so that it drops its tail which is a pimping starter weapon.
Where can I find a bow?
Ditch Sauron and wait until you're higher level to take him on. Don't worry too much about a bow, most of this game is close combat. It can be a useful tool, but unlike Demon's Souls, there's no scenario where it could legitimately be seen as critical in importance.
Madass, you fail to connect the context, he is talking about the hellkite dragon blocking the way to Undead Parish, Buy the short bow to the first merchant ever?
...I may not be cut out for making stuff with the Creation Kit
I managed to crash it by just attempting to load stuff from Skyrim =/
^^ You don't. You pretty much avoid it.
Although it's guarding a pretty neato claymore, which is my personal favourite mundane weapon in this game.
