everest
i swear to god
stop being me
or i will not be responsible for the violence that will ensue
(I failed my first test on the reverse parking.)
I'm still amazed I passed the second time.
Also, lol:
I didn't think I'd run into Smokie's photobucket one more time.
Everest, though...
And the worst part? I can't fix that. I can't go back to when I was 17 and make myself get it then, so I will forever be the girl who didn't drive till she was 21.
It feels bad not only being in the majority, but also knowing that most of my peers are already beyond that stage.
(As for why I failed, I missed the proctor's direction to change lanes. I panicked and changed without looking over my shoulder, and on the solid line right before the light. Then, still bent out of shape over that, I just kinda sat there when the light turned, and I got honked at. Except for that one street, it went pretty well).
But I only got a strike instead of getting failed. (I also got a strike for forgetting my blinker when I parked).
And Nyarly, too.I think I got off easy, overall. I did get points off for doing a rolling stop at a residential street (which, for some reason, I remember was called Alice Drive) and for failing to do a proper double-stop when turning back onto the main road.
I guarantee, this is not as much of a stigma as you think. I'm skeptical it's even a stigma at all.
What's even better is that the second time I tried I did considerably worse, and my proctor said "you're really hesitant but you'll grow out of that. You pass."
I think they'll just take any excuse to fail you on your first time.
I wish I weren't such a manchild.
@CentralAvenue: I think you're making as much progress in that department as anyone can be reasonably expected to make--more, even. Just keep doing what you're doing and you'll get out from under that soon enough. In the meantime, try not to compare yourself against other people your age--it seems like the standard for measuring your growth should be yourself. Comparing how you were last year with how you are this year, seeing how you've changed, and seeing how you still want to change...that's my advice, anyway.
Is Backlog accepting new applicants now?

Removing from my to-finish list.
Make them jump that river. 100 times.
