    Hanairo is good, though I haven't finished it, since I haven't been watching much anime in the past couple months.

    Dunno about Nodame Cantabile, though I have the whole thing on my hard drive, just haven't gotten around to watching it.  I pretty much want to watch it because I like the song "Allegro Cantabile". >.>

    Anyway, yesterday I learned that Stepmania (and probably DDR and similar games in general) gets about 300% easier if playing with a noteskin where you can actually tell what colors the notes are.  Also that I suck at playing with a dance pad.

    ^^ I have quite the opposite feelings about it now; with how few people there are left, it feels like we're all just sitting around a table and chatting to whoever's nearby.

    ^ By the way, I watched part of the Fate/stay night dub at PortCon a while back. Is the dub generally acknowledged as being bad? Because the part I saw wasn't all that great. I think it was episode 3 or something.

    I'm almost disappointed. Out of the nine anime I've started, or attempted to start, in the past three days, only three of them have been immediately interesting (Nichijou, Samurai Champloo, Hanasaku Iroha).

    RahXephon (animation was a major turnoff, so I don't plan to try again), Serial Experiments Lain, Gankutsuou, Steins;Gate, and Haibane Renmei. It's not even that they're bad (well, except Nodame); just not terribly interesting so far, and I imagine they've lost some less patient viewers.

    Haven't seen any of them except Lain.  I liked it, but yeah it is pretty slow and doesn't really start getting more interesting until later.

    Yes, that's the one, although the setting isn't fantastical like S&W. I found Nodame to be unbearably crude and couldn't keep watching.

    The latter.  Though, the fact that the noteskin I'm currently using is smaller vertically than the default one might also help too, since it means notes don't look quite as cluttered during fast parts.

    I need to learn how to work with skins and noteskins and choosing different menu music and stuff.  I prefer 3.9's menu music over 4.0's.

    To install themes or noteskins, just download one and unzip it into the appropriate directory (\Themes or \noteskins\dance, respectively).  Unless you mean making them, in which case... documentation on creating themes and noteskins seems pretty poor (though at least for noteskins it's probably not very hard to figure out).  If you just want to change the menu music, then go into \themes\\sounds and just replace the menu music with a .ogg of your choice.  Or, at least, I can't see any reason that wouldn't work... >.>
