  • You can change. You can.
I don't like Western Animation much either, truth be told. But that's because most of the shows tend to be weak and rather episodical. And even then, they tend to be comic based, and with very few exceptions the comic tend to have better plots or at least, more varied ones.

Only exception is the DCAu because let's face it, they outdid fucking Alan Moore. They have my respect.

All this talk of people going to the same college makes me wonder if anybody here goes to ACAD or, hell, even lives in Calgary or the surrounding area

    ^ What?

  • I watched a couple episodes of it Avatar and haven't been particularly impressed, but it's possible I'll change my mind at some point.  If nothing else, it doesn't really show most of the problems I have with most Western animation.

When it first came, I really didn't like it. The first few episodes are just okay. The Season 1 Finale is when shit gets real, and then Seasons 2 and 3 are amazing.

    I can't wait for Korra.

Can't say I was much impressed by Avatar either. The animation and action sequences were nice, but nothing else was very gripping to me.
  • @AHR: you found rule 34 of yourself in real life?

    Wot.

Eh, to each his own Everest.

I can say is the best animated series I've ever watched, though.
  • CC: No. Whenever anything slightly like a sex joke is mentioned, certain people will go all "LOL RULE 34!"

    Damn annoying twats.

Avatar is..something I've yet to finish.

But I honestly think that even if I did, it wouldn't change my mind on the fact that the DCAU is definetly the best string of western animated series out there. And great adaptations too. Not only do they take the best possible comic stories out there in each series' respective time, but they improve on them in one shape or the other.

Also, Superman introduced season plot arcs to Western Animation, so, there's that

"I can say is the best animated series I've ever watched, though."

Well, I haven't watched it in full, but I think I watched the first season and caught snippets of the following seasons, enough so that I could figure out important info. Given that, I have something substantial to base my opinion on, but I'm probably missing something.

I kind of want to get some voice actors together and do a radio drama version of The Great Outdoor Fight from Achewood.

@Avatar: I loved the story and the characters and the animation and all that, but I thought that the writing and dialogue itself left a lot to be desired.

I can't believe I'm saying this but the current string of snowclones is amusing me

    Nvm, it sucks now

@DonZabu: It's true that the writing is slightly hurt by being on Nickelodeon, but I still think it is very good. Everything else about it, I think is perfect.

Damn, I was just about to make one. :c
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
I like Avatar because it's one of the few shows with characters I can relate to- a kid who doesn't really want to save the world, but he's born into it and he's the only one who can do it so he does it anyway, a girl who just wants to learn her craft, but helps this kid out anyway because he's her friend and she knows that if she doesn't, he will find it harder to help save the world, and a guy with nothing special going for him, but who routinely throws himself against opponents with a lot more skill, experience and power than he does simply because he knows it's the only way to win.

Also, when I say writing, I mean dialogue. The progression of plot, events, twists, relationships and evelopment is perfect.

You can do it if it's funny

    simple.

By which i mean, include the original text.

I know. I'm just stating my opinion. I'll admit I'm exaggerating. I do have a lot of real good things to say about it, that I could list all day.
  • You can change. You can.
It's more that the word "perfect" makes me wanna go, "O RLY?"

and that's something that no human should feel
  • Then what do you think about the number 6?
  • You can change. You can.
    you're thinking of seven, amigo

  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human
I just had an apt idea.

While watching American Idol / America's/Britain's/[possessive form of country name] Got Talent / The X Factor / etc., play an iDOLM@STER game.
