A couple things that are unrelated to each other.
1. I wonder if hanging out on the Steam forums and in general hanging out socially over gaming has gotten me to (1) pick up too many intentions to play games, and (2) made me feel that a lot of people around me are seemingly demanding (albeit weakly, in most cases) that I play various games? I know I started to feel this resentment about anime, but I've got less of a personality clash with the gaming fandom, so I haven't felt as much resentment here. But I wonder if it's a useful approach going forward, to stand firmer in my "I play what I want, when I want" position rather than being drawn into the feeling of needing to play games because they're there. After all, they are timeless.

Do people actually think that this level of distortion near the edges of the screen are a good thing?

I should play it at some point, I remember when it was a hot topic around here at some point (and that it was the topic of the argument that made our userbase implode). I don't know how spoiled it is already knowing the gimmick, but whatevs.
mother brain has only one eye
so she lacks depth perception
that's why she's only starred in 2D Metroid games
has softcore porn beer added to your options screen?
As you can guess, I like it a lot, and I was wondering if anybody here knew a lot about other stuff Hanako Games has released, and has any recommendations on which one to check out after I'm done with LLTQ.
oh god what is this voice
Oh, of course.
Here's a full list of their games: https://www.hanakogames.com/
The two Cute Knight games seem to be things that they made before coming to Steam. I know Magical Diary and Science Girls and LLTQ are on Steam, presumably also others. (However it seems all their games can also be bought directly from them.)
I don't remember any of them making as big a splash as LLTQ, though.
If it's VNs with atypical premises that you're looking for, I guess there's VA-11 Hall-A, 2064: Read Only Memories, and Doki Doki Literature Club, but I don't think any of them are raising sim? Not sure since I haven't played any of them.
Black Closet actually looks the most interesting to me out of the ones I've seen, so do you have any firsthand experience playing that one, or have you heard anything about whether it's good?
I haven't played too many VNs before (not even the Ace Attorney games since they're not on PC; I've just settled for watching LPs of them), so I'm not picky about what kind of VN I pick up. It doesn't have to be a raising sim for me to have fun with it.
@Unknown_Entity (even though I've shown it to you already) and @Bluesy_Cowgirl and I think also @Bee
Obviously, this isn't a Mario game, but it also does look kinda neat. Might actually be nice in its original form.
Seems like its original form is a tie-in game with the anime series Crayon Shin-Chan:

TL;DR hardware quirks are the stuff of programmers' nightmares.
Helps explain why modern computers, which are 29 billion times more powerful than old consoles, can still have problems emulating them perfectly.

I'll post an update when it goes live, but it'll probably start around 1 to 2 hours from now, and it'll last about 2 to 3 hours.
Things at those (relativistic) speeds didn't look the way I expected them to.
Anyhows, from ^ I found out about A Link to the Past's randomizer, I kinda want to play one but it bugs me that apparently there's no way to not apply the English patch to it.
