Ideally, the gimmicks in Mario levels should force players to adapt quickly to the level and thus provide a decent challenge.
Personally, I think the best way of telling when the difficulty feels right is when you don't feel you're blazing through the game but you don't feel frustrated because you're not blazing through the game. Or in other words, when you feel like a horse with a carrot dangling in front of you and you're so sure you're gonna catch it but nope. And then you try again.
And again.
until you somehow kick your rider off and eat the carrot
and the rider
So...
Bayonetta 2 and Monster Hunter 3 Unlimited just confirmed for WiiU exclusive.
Yeah
fuck exclusives
I wish the price point was lower on the WiiU, $300 is a bit much. Still I do plan to get one. The a few of the titles at launch and in the launch window do sound fun. ZombiU just keeps getting better as more details come and Rayman Legends is looking awesome. The other exclusives do not hurt either.
^True.
Now here is the full list of launch window titles for the WiiU.
Can't forget that weird-looking TV service. It seems like Nintendo is trying to make it something of a pseudo-set-top box, with the whole Live-TV with some other services thing.
And also, Bayonetta 2 is published by Nintendo. Yeah.
Seems like a reasonable strategy, given that Microsoft is trying to do that too, but nobody in Japan cares about Microsoft.
Hmm, looks like nothing major has changed with the change of publishers, though Sega still owns the character.
Thank you, Nintendo. Keep that pimphand strong.
Viewtiful Joe meets Pikmin? Hell Fucking Yes!
Someone show these people Eternal Darkness.
Half-Life 2 finished. Right on time for Black Mesa.
So what I'm currently playing.
Xenoblade Chronicles: I was hesitant since Xenosaga was pretty much everything I hate about JRPGs but this game throws it out the window with an easy-to-follow story and relatively likable characters. The combat system develops gradually and gets more interesting. Just hope it lasts.
Silent Hill Downpour: It's an American Silent Hill game. Yeah for obvious morality systems. Why not just give me a button that says 'I want the good ending'.
^ Did they ever release more copies of Xenoblade? Or is it still stuck under that "pre-order limited release good luck getting it otherwise" thing?
I got mine through gamefly so I have no clue, though it can't be bought so...
So, NA Wii U launch titles will include Assassin's Creed III, ZombiU, and possibly Pikmin 3. I guess that puts it above the Vita for me priority-wise, since for me the Vita is basically a Persona 4 machine.
^^Amazon has it used for $60.
Bayonetta 2 is Wii U exclusive which is interesting.
I'll wait until a proper Zelda title is announced though.
Well, it's hardly surprising that it's exclusive, since Nintendo took over publishing the series after Sega backed out.
And yeah, I hope we get Zelda sooner in this system's lifespan.
Wouldn't count on it. We got one at the end of last year.
Well, we have a bit of time to wait though, which is good. Zelda has always been the killer app of the system for me though.
Gamestop's still selling copies, as far as I know.
Eh, I didn't really like 3D Land. It was a bit more creative than the NSMB series, but the level design felt incredibly lackluster, and the game was rather bland.
I'm actually gonna skip out on this console. I don't see anything of interest at all on it, and my wallet simply cannot handle anymore unnecessary spending. In fact, I think I might skip out on the next gen consoles mainly because gaming is getting ridiculously expensive.
You would not believe the internet meltdown that happened over this. Several people issued death threats toward Nintendo and Platinum after the announcement. And gamers wonder why there's so many negative stereotype about them. I can understand not liking the fact that it's a system exclusive, but people really have to take a chill pill.
Pretty much par for the course when someone announces something about a videogame.
Seriously, though, given that the options were a Wii U exclusive and never getting a sequel ever...I guess I shouldn't expect logic from the Internet.
>Eh, I didn't really like 3D Land. It was a bit more creative than the NSMB series, but the level design felt incredibly lackluster, and the game was rather bland.
Same. Can't say I didn't enjoy it, but it's the least interesting Mario game I've played in ages.
This whole video sums up the whole stupid RAEG that this news is getting.
So, a lot of people have been talking about the price of gaming going up, but if you adjust for inflation, it seems it's been going down.
So GOG has all its D&D games for 65% off. Including Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Planescape: Torment, and Neverwinter Nights.
