Oh, it was always a fangame, but just the most prominent one since it's a fangame based on Valve properties?
And I guess it uses the Source engine?
Yep.
I've been following the project for I think four years.
So, I'm on sequence six in ACR.
Apparently there are nine of them total? If that's the case, this game is really short, and mostly padding.
So yeah, I guess it is worse than the first one.
Okay, fuck it, I'm just going to go ahead and uninstall it. Not worth bothering with.
Terraria is on sale for $3.39 today, if anyone was wanting to get it.
^Figures, I bought it at full price yesterday for a friend.
Guys, what reason would I want to get an Xbox360 aside from the pointy shooty speesh mareen gaems?
I've heard a lot of Treasure's impossible to eBay games like Guardian Heroes can be downloaded, but what else? Anything worth getting on that thing, specifically, that i can't get from the PS3?
There aren't really any good non-shooter exclusives on it. I don't regret owning one (especially since it was a Christmas present), but of every console I own, I probably own the fewest games for it.
^^Here's a list of exclusives. If you can't find anything you want then stick with the PS3.
Bayonetta's good (And the PS3's port is shitty enough for it to count as a 360 exclusive. Or so I heard anyway)
^From what I can find from Googling around, the only difference is some slight lag on the PS3, which was fixed by an update that lets you install it. Not worth buying another console over.
Huh. I remember that back when it was released, people were making a big deal about the port sucking. I'll look into that, then.
People always make a big deal about the port sucking. When Dark Souls was ported to the PC, there was a boycott because the graphics weren't tangibly better than the PS3 version as all PC games must be because reasons.
Hmm... The Dishwasher sounds pretty damn cool.
^^I thought it was boycotted because of the massive control issues.
Not sure how that would work, since the boycott was before it was released.
And also because it doesn't actually have massive control issues, just an initial "wait what?!" moment when you first see that the controls aren't exactly like every other PC game.
> petition for port
> get port
> boycott port
> most of those people probably bought it anyway
You can get iDOLM@STER for X-Box 360!
...oh wait, wrong region.
It's a mess lacking options present in nearly every other PC ports in existence (admitelly fixed... by a fan patch made by one guy.), and which do things like showing a X360 controller prompt while using the keyboard. Dismising criticisms of it as "lol angry pc nerds are teh grafix wores XD" is petulantly reactionary.
ACE COMBAT 6.
There's no doubt the Dark Souls port is a bad one, but I feel the fury over it is unwarranted. Remember, FromSoftware chose to do this in-house, and I believe they've only ever done one port before. I could be wrong though; they might have never done a port. Furthermore, this is a Japanese development studio -- PCs and Japanese gaming don't usually mix. While the port should be criticised for its faults, the sheer vitriol leveled at it is nothing short of a temper tantrum.
My major issue with the way PC gamers have been handling it is that they're mostly caught up about things that aren't actually the game itself. Most criticisms that don't deal with the control scheme concern the bells and whistles that PC games usually get rather than any considerable factor of actual gameplay. There are certainly much more legitimate criticisms being made as well, but the fact that there's such an uproar over peripheral elements of the game when there's so much to be happy about is silly.
I mean, when was the last time an online petition actually did anything in the gaming industry? And furthermore, this additional content isn't tacked-on weapons, armour or other items, but a new area giving players the opportunity to examine a place so far only mentioned in lore, and to interact with some of the major characters that didn't actually make it into the initial release of the game. This is additional content done right; developers and publishers listening to their userbase done right. As much as the port has its fair share of technical faults, the cries of Satan-spawn and the spitting at its feet seem to be missing the point from both a core gameplay and game industry perspective.
I reiterate that I'm not against criticism of the port, but I am against useless criticism. A lack of graphical options is only annoying to someone who absolutely must play it at heightened settings, but the control issues effect everyone. If FromSoftware wanted everyone to play it with a gamepad, they probably should have gotten it packaged with a gamepad. Likewise, there ought to have been better hacker control from the get go. Apart from that, though, I don't think there's much to hate on -- PC gamers are getting one of the best RPGs of this generation in an era where the PC is often ignored outside of its strengths at RTS and MMORPG titles. And they're getting it because thousands of gamers asked for it. Sounds like a win to me.
>Dismising criticisms of it as "lol angry pc nerds are teh grafix wores XD
Um...these two bits of your post are kind of at odds with each other.
Anyway, yes, the button prompt is kind of annoying and is the one minor non-graphical problem with the port.
That doesn't change the fact that the boycott started before the port was released and anything other than "doesn't have improved graphics" was known.
And now I know that I'm not the only one who thinks a multiplayer Wii U game with Tabletop RPG elements is a good idea.
Yeah, my reaction to that was pretty much "WANT."
The closest thing I can think of to that is Dokapon Kingdom, except that's more Mario Party meets Dragon Quest.
Man, watching videos like this makes me realize how soulless has E3 become. My favourite moment is SSBM's trailer at 4:00
EDIT: DERP Wrong thread.
So, found out playing as Zero makes X6 slightly less frustrating.
Enjoyed smacking Mijinion around like a pinata.

Excessive focus on realism in games to the exclusion of all else has always kind of bothered me, but now it's just getting creepy.
