No, he means the Party Jawa.
No, everyone who's subscribed when the F2P happens gets a party jawa reward. (ninja'd)
And a new event would be cool.
I'm pretty excited about getting Blizz later, though.
So does anyone want to try to run some FPs tonight? No promises, but I think I'll be able to do a couple.
Imperial side, with my Assassin tank.
What level is your Assassin? My BH is level 34 or 35 I think.
My assassin's 50.
Yeah nope. My only level 50 is a Consular.
I'd offer to jump on, but... blah, Friday, shopping.
I ran Battle of Ilum and The False Emperor for the first time, and finally started doing dailies on one of my characters.
Geeze, False Emperor's boss fight is so long. Not hard unless you fuck up the grenade toss positioning at the end, but it just drags on for a really long time.
I liked the FP up to that though.
So I made my characters for all the rest of the classes today, just so I could have them there and kind of think about their backstories and stuff. So I'm just gonna post a couple sentences about each of them so I remember what I came up with.
Forzare:
Level 50 Human Sith Assassin
Late 30's.
Was an untrained force sensitive citizen of the Republic, taken as a prisoner of war and enslaved during the sacking of Coruscant. When his talent was discovered and forced into becoming Sith, he hated the Empire and the Sith and what he was becoming. As his training went on and his power became apparent, he had a slow realization - he was more powerful than the rest of these Sith. He was more intellegent. He wasn't so recklessly murderous as the rest, and he knew the value of mercy. A plan began to form - rise to the top of the Sith Order and to find a way to manipulate and kill to take control. There, he would be able to change the empire for the better. As amember of the Dark Council, his plan is running smoothly.
Re'na
Level 50 Chiss Sniper
Late 20's.
When she joined Imperial Intelligence, Re'na was optimistic and moral. There was a lot wrong with the Empire - racism, infighting among it's ranks - but she believed that as a Cipher Agent, she could do her best to make the Empire a safer, better place for it's citizens, no matter the cost to herself. And during her battle with Darth Jadus aboard the Dominator, she nearly did. After making the call to allow Jadus to fire the weapon to buy time to take him down, he managed to catch her across the face with a glancing blow from his lightsaber, ruining her jaw and throat and all but blinding her. Imperial doctors were able to salvage most of her face, but she must wear a complex breathing and speech mask most of the time. She wasn't bothered - she had taken a bullet for her Empire, and she felt they had repayed the favor a thousand times over - until she found out what had been done to her while she was unconscious. As payment for her years of loyal service and sacrifice, the Empire invaded her mind and brainwashed her. The revelation nearly broke her, and overnight she went from upbeat to bitter and cynical, her passion for her country turned to boiling hate. And when she got her hands on the Black Codex and was approached by Ardun Kothe, she had her opportunity. The Empire was going to burn, and she was going to stand above the flames and laugh.
Akasaka/Tarwin
Level 50 Miralukan Jedi Guardian
Mid-20s.
Tarwin believes in the Jedi Order. He believes in their ideals, and he believes in what they represent. However, he feels that sometimes, someone needs to get their hands dirty to protect the innocent. So he does things that are distinctly un-Jedi-like - he kills, blackmails, threatens - so that other Jedi can keep their hands clean and maintain their ideals, and so that the Republic can be safe from the evils of the empire. Is he a dark jedi? It's difficult to say. While it cannot be argued that many of his actions are of the dark side, they are rarely motivated by anger or hate or passion. He goes about these necessary evils with an aura of Jedi-calm, logic and what will save the most lives in the long run informing his actions more than what the Jedi Code says.
And here we get into the characters I haven't completely ironed out yet.
Kai'ree
Level 11 Chiss Jedi Sage
Roughly eighteen.
Sister to Re'na and Durem'Laddel, though long separated, each thinking the other dead. As a young child, she and her mother were caught in the crossfire between Republic and Empire forces, and they took refuge with other civillians in the local Sith Lord's bunker. Driven mad by reckless use of power and his impending death, the Sith Lord began slaughtering the refugees, including Kai'ree's mother in front of her. Rescued by a group of Republic Commandos, she was adopted by one of the squad and raised as a Republic citizen. Eventually, she was discovered as a Force-potential and taken in by the Jedi Order, where she learned to keep her anger under control, and she became the very model of the passionless Jedi Code. This was merely a facade, however - her quiet, reserved, helpful persona hides beneath it a simmering anger towards the Empire and the Sith, and a violent temper. She is almost always able to keep her impulses under control, but she has the potential to explode.
Vresk
Level 23 Rattaki Powertech
Early 30s
The stereotypical credit-hungry Bounty Hunter. He'll do anything, no matter how horrible, for a paycheck - anything except turn on a contract, because he knows that a bounty hunter that can't be trusted is worthless, no matter how good he is at what he does. The Empire pays well and provides steady work so he's loyal for now.
Arannia
Human/Cyborg Republic Commando
Early 40s.
Sister to Forzare and adoptive mother of Kai'ree and Adulaia. Fiercely loyal to the republic, but she left the military after rescuing Kai'ree and recieving numerous injuries and cybernetic implants. With her two children grown, she rejoined the military, and was quickly assigned to Havoc Squad, where her combat skill could best be put to use.
Adulaia
Zabrak Scoundrel
About 20.
The other side of Vresk's coin. She claims that all she cares about is credits, but she has a soft heart. She'll always help those who need it, but she usually asks for some kind of token payment so she can keep telling herself she doesn't really care. She's met Vresk several times, both as an ally and an enemy, and they have kind of a love/hate thing going on. On her side, anyway - he doesn't really seem to care one way on another.
Duram'Laddel
Chiss Sith Marauder
Mid-Thirties
Re'na and Kai'ree's brother. He's a sith or something???? Yeah, I haven't really come up with his characterization yet.
Hahaha, I just finished The Lost Island Flashpoint on hard mode. That was sufficiently challenging to be fun, but not enough to be bullshit. It was just getting everybody to work together right and know boss attack patterns. Got the Orosquab, a sweet freakishly long speeder, some rakata gear and an achievement speeder out of all of it.
Free To Play is confirmed for November 15.
So, if I get this game F2P style, will I be able to play with you guys? Join parties and things like that?
A comprehensive run down of F2P restrictions. Generally dulfy.net is a great place to go if you want general SWTOR info.
So it's free now.
Space required: 25 GB.
Space on my SSD: 15 GB.
After some spring cleaning, managed to get up to 28.3 gigabytes free.
Things will be so much easier once I get a second SSD just for Steam stuff.
So...downloading this game takes a bit >.>
What are your first impressions, Clockwork? (It is still weird calling you anything but INUH, btw.)
Signed back on today, for the first time in like... a month.
Alk and I have nearly all the HK-51 pieces, except for the ones requiring Flashpoints.
We ended up going into HM False Emperor, but... well, we were torn to shreds, even grouped up with other people. Bleh.
Need to focus on schoolwork for the next couple of weeks though. Play after, when I have my subscription back.
>Leave computer on overnight to download
>Computer crashes
T_T
Yeah don't do that. I did that once and now my computer is irreparably fucked up and will never be the same again.
I do it all the time. Worked fine when I downloaded TOR.
Oh, no, the computer crashing has nothing to do with it being left on for long periods. It just does that once a week or so and will continue to until I stop being lazy and open it up to fix an issue.
It just had really, really shitty timing.
It's done
Tell me when you get up to around Level 15-20.
Hmmm...I was going to re-create my Sith Warrior from the beta, but the Sith species is locked, so I guess I'll start off with an inquisitor.
What class did you choose?
what
no
Start off with either an Agent or a Consular/Knight, in that case. Maybe a Bounty Hunter.
