    I don't know if this is common, but sometimes I have dreams that are like, dunno, a film or some other story. Like I had a script generated and played out in my head, feels a bit like. All there's left for you is to wake up and write it down.

    Too bad I already forgot everything I still remembered in the morning. Some sort of occult conspiracy crap, that's all that I can say now.

    Was opening up the place I work in today when two guys came in and attempted to beat the life out of me, luckily a security guard nearby saw and chased them off.

    Got away with some bruises and a swollen face because they were pretty terrible at hand to hand (thank goodness they didn't have knives or guns or something) but I'm doing that thing where I examine all my thoughts (including the parts where I go over it again and again) and worry that they've done permanent psychological damage to me.

    It was like... six and a half hours ago so I'm probably just overreacting, I hope.

    On the trauma thing: I've been roughed up once(bleeding lip and a cut across my arm from someone who bashed a beer bottle on it), and I was twitchy around sudden movements and large groups of dudes for a month or so. That said, I did try my best to laugh it off and so forth even on the night itself, and I don't know if it helped. 

    Give yourself time to heal, but also work on adapting the memories into a narrative you're comfortable with: emphasizing the element that they suck at hand-to-hand combat is good. You could think up other stuff they did hilariously wrong, and weave that into the story you tell others about it. This is what worked for me, so try to think up an approach that works for you.

    Yeah they were trying to rob the store, and I'm fine aside from the ringing in my left ear but my doctor said it's just the blood vessels going insane on my face.

    Aside from all this, I actually did some reading on how Greece got to where it is right now and it really put me off ever thinking the EU could be borderline decent because it basically went:

    1. Ask for help.
    2. Be asked to introduce billions of taxes on your country's people after you tell the EU people can't pay what they already have.
    3. Allow banks to act as judge/jury/executioner of the people's debt, including raising interest rates mid-loan and allowing them to change collateral because the properties market collapsed instead of leaving them to accept that sometimes the risk of default is real.
    4. Refuse your citizens the right to fight the banks decisions.
    5. New people promise changes to get elected.
    6. Go to EU to beg them to give you four more months to do exactly what the other guys failed to do.

    Some story I wanted to share: a seventeen year-old has been hospitalized after downing an entire 0.7 of vodka in one go. Had 0.48% blood alcohol content. Now I'm thinking her father must consider her a wimp.

    Also finally got to visit a specialist doctor after some higher-end diagnostics. Actually got a good time for the former, it's the latter that got me wait like six or seven months. Didn't mind that much, wasn't severely ill (more like a sucky inconvenience).

    New drugs law makes it illegal for growth shops to sell facilitating supplies to the casual homegrower(even garden centres are hit with this law-and not tattling on people you suspect are buying it for this purpose is also punishable by law). But pot shops are still legal, and in the meanwhile even Alaska has legalized that stuff. What's even worse is that this shit is spearheaded by Labour equivalent greybeards. I've used weed thrice in my life and this stuff is an embarassment to our international reputation.

    So, today my workmate locked himself up in a lab and sent me like half a dozen frantic SMSes (and one call), urging me to not reveal he's in there UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER, in particular not to that one girl that was waiting for him outside, and preferably deny ever having known him. A bothersome student? A sad, unfortunate love affair? A horrifying result of secret, illicit experiments behind the backs of one's superiors? You decide.

    Also, my anger management skills have been much better over the last few months, but I still slip up once in a while. That guy in the front probably wasn't a fag actually. Traffic, you see.

    One other local thing: I've been recently baffled by a facebook post (facebook or twitter posts being the Agora of today) by the local anarchists' union. You know how Gypsies - the Roma people - have a reputation for being petty thieves? Now, the left generally stands for the downtrodden. One would expect the anarchists would defend them from the stereotype-minded accusations, eh? Nah. They stated that many peoples around the world have a different concept of property than the West and that we should, yadda yadda yadda, so on. Sure, Whatever. It's just, you know. You would expect them to defend the Roma folks by saying they aren't thieves, not by saying they are and it's a-okay. Smells like... epic fail.

    Some say all the cases against the previous goverment officials is a witch hunt, those who hold that opinion have a vested interest in the Martinelli government's wellbeing, but hey, they lost the election of his puppet. So fuck em. Alejandro Moncada Luna accepted a deal for a total of five years in prison. For illicit enrichment and corruption and other similar charges, he did try to get house arrest by presenting a cardiologist report regarding his health, but the cardiologist that gave that report didn't check him at all on the day she gave that report, and the attorney for the case said that it didn't count anyway because she was a private doctor, not a forensic doctor from the state.

    In other news, the doctor gave me a receipt or how do you call it, I'm entitled to receive some massage treatment and stuff. October is the soonest date I can hope for. I'm seriously considering to just pay some money and visit a private practice.

    Also, a man's house is about to be demolished, because a pipe is about to go through his land. Except the plans to lay down the pipe were cancelled. But his house is still meant for demolition. B) Deal with it.

    Also, Russian embargo on Polish apples resulted in a hundredfold increase in the import of Polish concentrated apple juice. fug :DDD

    Okay, guys, I'm as for combatting restrictive gender roles as any of you, but this patronizing ivory tower bullshit needs to stop. As a dude I pick some traits of supposedly toxic masculinity voluntarily because they work for me(dealing with insults by means of stoicism, competitive banter, seeking like-minded folks who enjoy these traits). I enjoy this, I realize not all men are like this, and the last thing I need is for some hipster columnist to spin what's probably pretty mild run-of-the-mill urban anthropology into 'this is not actually you, patriarchy just makes you behave that way'. It's tacky and could even been seen as sexist(feminine-coded traits are needed to redeem hurting man, more Mills and Boons at eleven).
