"Die, monster! You don't belong in this world!"
> Does FF let you grind to 9999 and do 400 Quadrillion damage? NO. Ergo, Disgaea is objectively better than FF.
I REALLY hope that this usage of "objectively" was in jest.
> ^Though Cecil and Terra were pretty angsty too.
I actually enjoyed their characterization. I thought it was appropriate.

If the several of you don't stop sniping at each other

DOSE PEGASUS KNIGHTS
> > Also, Chagen. You should try playing MMOs
> Hell no, they are horrible on my social paranoia and they are boring grindfests.
> Also, MMOs cost a shitload of money.
There are some free-to-play ones. They may have content that's only available to paying subscribers, but some don't, such as (allegedly) the one that Cygan was mentioning earlier, Eden Eternal.
Ironically, I think I'm the only one in our guil still playing that game...I never see Cygan on.
> Start with the one on the GBA, though, it's my personal favorite.
Which one?
> Of the ones I played, FF4 held my interest for over an hour and a half, so I'd have to call it the best, or at least the least bland.
That's because it has the least complicated character advancement system, and some of the quickest attack animations ever.
Its plot is nothing to write home about in my opinion. Decently interesting and dramatic, but nowhere near the best thing ever. The soundtrack is also decent but not the best. I like it for being a quick game that's easy to pick up and play.
In contrast, FF5 is more complex and I ended up using a piece of paper to keep track of who had mastered what.
Same with FFTA; I used four pieces of paper to keep track of which member of my clan had equippd what skills, equipped what equipment, mastered what abilities, were learning what abilities, had how many judge points, had what levels and experience points, were what race...not to mention that I have to plan out how many of each race I want and then leave space in my max-24-characters clan for all the hidden characters as well as all the special characters.
> Yep. The GBA translation is hands down the best official FF translation.
No, the RPGe translation is better.
@ MMORPG: Oh, Eden Eternal is free? I might try it one of these days.
Also, I suggest practicing your German with these.
@ FFV: You're all wrong, the PSX translation is the best one as it has Faris talking like a pirate.
...okay, except Butz.
"Exdeath"
If they really took that seriously, wouldn't they have made it Exodus?
^^ I'd say the GBA takes the plot seriously when it needs to, it just lightens up during the other parts. Also I'm pretty sure all those names except Cara are in the GBA version.
^ But "Cara" is far better than either "Krile" (be it pronounced "kreel" or "cry lee") or "Kururu".
^ Trufax.
Also, I've noticed that I only actually like one character from VIII, and he's incredibly minor. And I only actually like him because of the stuff he does in Dissidia 012 [12]. I usually like at least a few characters in a FF game. >.>
But Dissidia Laguna, a man who brings his presidential kill-sat to a one on one fight, is at least kinda awesome in my books. Also, his interactions with the Cloud of Darkness are amusing.
It's a bit late, but I don't see what's so bad about the GBA FFVI translation. I quite liked it.
It's closer to the original Japanese from what I've heard.
