"Indeed." Ray agreed. "So unless anyone can come up with other routes or ways to Cerulean City, we're off for Mt. Moon." Ray shuddered. "I definitely don't want that happening."
"...The boy said, in the nicest tone... That they didn't want to hurt me... Yet..."
He sighed. "...Fuck... FUCK! I was used AGAIN wasn't I!? Every god damn time! He almost had me steal your Pokemon thinking it was the RIGHT thing to do! Arceus DAMMIT why do I always get fucking TRICKED!"
Snow looked at her upset trainer worriedly
Greg looks frightened by the outburst for a moment, then thinks over what Charles said.
"Wait...you did what?"
Ray gave a glare at Charles. "Run that last part by me again." he said icily.
"Let's all just calm down. Nobody's taking anyone. And I don't think it was his fault."
"Don't worry, Carrie," Jackie said. "I'm not gonna beat him up or anything." She was considering the idea of a leash much more seriously, though, since Charles apparently couldn't be trusted to walk alone.
Greg takes a moment to check that his Pokeballs are still there.
He looked pretty pissed
"Why do I even TRUST anybody any more!? Darkrai wants us to stay away so we don't interfere with him, the boy almost got me to kidnap your FRIENDS, for what reason I don't know..."
He started to cry as he raged. "Everybody only cares about themselves! What THEY can get! Hell, I bet you're all the same tol! You probably don't give a damn about anyone. You'll just stand back and let me do something stupid while you go and do fuck all, or get me to do something to get me in trouble... Like that boy, like my previous so called friends... Fuck Darkrai, fuck humans, fuck Arceus himself!"
He then sat on the ground and fumed
Ray simmered for a few moments. The very idea of someone taking Phillip from him.... Ray rubbed his temples. "All we can confirm is that we can't confirm anything then."
Greg frowns. "I'll take your word that it's not your fault...but we still need to decide what to do."
"No, we can confirm that avoiding Mt. Moon is a stupid idea," Jackie said to Ray. "As is letting--" Jackie thought harder about her choice of words before continuing. "--anyone in this group split up; people are already trying to play mind games with us. We can't allow anyone to wander into a trap again.
"I saw we pack up and stay the course for Mt. Moon; we can either die trying or die as lazy assholes. Which are we?"
"I don't see how this changes anything." Ray said, trying and failing to keep the anger out of his voice. "Our goal is still Cerulean city and the quickest way is through Mt. Moon. Our course is clear!"
"Let's try to get through as quickly as possible. Just in case."
Charles frowned. "No. I'm not going. I'm done with listening to anybody. It just leads to problems. You'll have to drag me along if you want me to come"
"You are my comrade Charles. I would never act to harm you." Ray brought out his hand in an offer to shake.
Snow smiled at her trainer getting up
So he's gone from throwing a little bitch-fit at us to agreeing to stay, just like that? Jackie thought. I wish I knew your secret, Ray. Jackie glared sideways, at nothing in particular. But she tried to simmer down, bringing up another topic.
"So, I think we can all agree that splitting up is a no-no?" She went back into Carrie's tent to roll up her sleeping bag.
"Sounds like a good idea."
"I'd certainly say so." Ray said, feeling significantly calmer and more confident after having diffused the situation. "There's strength in numbers and we are quite the charming group if you ask me.'
Jackie rolled her sleeping bag hard at first, whitening her fingers, but she finished slowly. Then she packed the rest of her things and went outside again.
"So, are there any lakes nearby? I could really use a bath." She wasn't even sure if she was joking or not, at this point. Hopefully her tone was the correct one.
Ray cleared his throat and his focus was suddenly on packing things up. "I.. ah... believe there is a lake to the south. I am not certain though..."
Greg also works on packing his things up.
"South, huh? . . . Which direction did we come from? That might be good to know, first." A bath was sounding like a really good idea right to her about now; people could get clean and sort their thoughts out in a more private environment. Or maybe she just wanted to be clean; it was bad enough she hadn't been able to bathe at nighttime, after her workout. She had never traveled like this before, though, so she didn't know if it would be worth the trip. "Unless we don't mind being all sweaty together before we reach Cerulean."
