And over 7 Hours of cutscenes.
Do want
I hate to jack the topic, but you probably don't want.
The designer's approach has led to a large array of armies with very different units. Not only will this make balance a bitch, it's completely unnecessary. For instance, Gannondorf's faction is separate to the Stalfos faction is separate to the Lizardfos faction is separate to the Gohma faction is separate from the Gerudo faction.
On a more relatable note, Hyrule is separate from from the other non-Gerudo human factions. There's a Zora faction (how would they fight without a nearby source of water?), a Goron faction and even a Kokiri faction.
The designer also appears to be disregarding any entries he doesn't personally like, such as any game in the Wind Waker style.
To me, this looks like a pretty huge mess. Between haveing too many factions with too little justification and ignoring the entries that the designer doesn't personally like, it looks to me that it'll be filled with a bunch of fanwank as well.
If you ask me, a Hyrule: Total War game or mod would only need these factions:
- Hyrule
- Gerudo
- Forces of Darkness (Gannondorf's army)
I mean, there really are no other significant military factions in the setting. Plus, you could have auxilleries to fill out some roles; Gorons could be units in service of Hyrule and work much like charging cavalry with their rolling, for instance.
In terms of fan games, the current Hyrule: Total War mod is one of the more overthought and poorly considered ones I've caught sight of. All respect to the designer for going through with it and doing the work, but there's absolutely no way the game needs that many factions or the attitude it does towards LoZ's already fractured narrative.
And, the Demo is now available for download.
And quick time events have never been so good. I think I'll preorder this now.
I already did before hand. I got mine from Gamestop. Dat Penny Arcade book!

9 Days till Asura's Wrath.
Might as well count down the days until the US Release date is near.
TBH...this looks...awful.
