    I always liked the idea that Samus was distant less through trauma and more through her development. Being raised by an alien race is going to alter one's understanding of things, including social interactions. So there's a sort of inherent cultural divide between Samus and the rest of mankind.

    Her grudge against Ridley should be extremely personal; not only did he kill her biological family, but her adoptive Chozo one as well. He's robbed her of any sort of familial security possible.

    For a while now, I've also wanted to see Samus ultimately defeat and kill Ridley, just so she can have a moment of realisation; killing him didn't bring her family back, the life she might've otherwise led or the happiness she might've otherwise found. She's spent years and destroyed planets chasing catharsis that she only thought she'd find.

    Samus has the potential to be just as alien as she is human, and that should be taken advantage of. It was disappointing that Other M not only made her ineffectual, but didn't recognise her upbringing at the hands of the Chozo. As if it didn't exist.

    I could have forgiven a lot. But goddamn that voice actress. She had no ability to emote. None. At all.

    Next game Laura Bailey should voice Samus. =P
