MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
When the hell does she ever hunt someone for the bounty on her head? Does this happen in Prime 3?

  • No rainbow star
I read that as Booty Hunter

...I haven't played the games so I have nothing else to say
  • Technically speaking, Samus is awesome ^_^
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Maybe the Space Pirates all have bounties? I mean, they're all pirates.
  • No rainbow star
Or maybe she is a bountiful hunter! :D
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
Apparently the word "mercenary" isn't cool enough.
  • No rainbow star
Or maybe she hunts down Bounty paper towels! :D
  • ^She's definitely hunting those down after her last "game"

    T_T
  • You can change. You can.
Erm, she hunts metroids for the federation and she doesn't officially work for them

    just sayin'
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
Yeah, but that's not really a bounty hunter so much as private contractor pest control.
  • You can change. You can.
That implies that Samus' services are private. When they're not.

She also has done a lot of work for herself. :P

but really, the premise of the series seems to be "Samus work for the government as a bounty hunter", rather than "Samus hunts bounties and we get to see this"

also, it'ss not always pest control! She sometimes investigates! Metroid Fusion and all that.
  • So, Metroid / Doctor Who Crossover.

    Who can see it working?
  • You can change. You can.
    predicatbo

    and i approve
  • There are several reasons I pitched it,

The most prevalent being I like them both.

But honestly, the whole nature of the Metroid series is to destroy the enemy at all costs, The only time this is changed around on is to give Samus the chance to show she's not quite the bringer of the apocalypse that others think she is (Ala Metroid 2 and Super Metroid)

Throwing the Doctor in that universe would be like replacing the water in a fishing hole with Caster oil.
  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
She's definitely hunting those down after her last "game"

why did you have to remind of that

    why did you do that
  • No rainbow star
    ^ Explain
  • You can change. You can.
    Other M

    it sucks

    end of story.
  • Hehehe.

If Samus is anywhere near one your favorite characters...

    You don't want to know.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
"I could tell by the way that the space pirates were firing at me that they did not want to be friends. It was times like this I remembered Adam, the man who saved me. At this point the watcher has now gotten needlessly pissed off."
  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
Basically, before Other M, Samus was a character with lots of potential courtesy of her obscure, implicit characterisation. Also, in the original Metroid, her being female was an endgame reveal. The implication was sorta like "nyah nyah did you assume she was a man? Shame on you :3"

Post Other M, she is another generic moeblob without personal agency. You can see how this might conflict with the rest of the series in its absolute entirety.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
Moeblob implies there was something appealing about her.
  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
Well, she was pretty. And ineffectual. And weepy. ON THE INSIDE.

    Moeblob.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
Not what moe means, buddy. =P
  • You can change. You can.
    Moe doesn't mean anything.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
Oh dear I've opened that  can of worms. =/
  • I call it the Princess peach route.

See, Here are two characters who were alike in their Characterization.

    Princess Zelda.

    And Princess Peach.

Compare and contrast their evolutions, and you will see that one of them moved from being a walking plot device into an actual character that did things other than keeping the plot moving.

The other one... not so much.

  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
Moe's definition is very broad. As a cultural colloquialism, it's very difficult to pin down any sort of set rules. I do suspect that Other M Samus was built to garner the same kind of sympathetic reaction, which brings her close enough in my book.

    Also,

Hey Clocky it's our favourite time again. 8D
  • You can change. You can.
fuck it all with a ten foot hammer sword. >_<
  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
At least it's relevant this time. xD
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
That's true, but considering the other work Team Ninja has done, which has some genuinely moe characters I do think they felt they were going for a genuinely complex and nuanced character.

Besides being pretty and sympathetic isn't really enough to be moe in my book.
