I like Blue Shells, but that's probably because I always lose and using one against the person in the lead feels good. :V

The Mario Kart series is pretty horrible overall.

Also, Goldeneye isn't really worth playing anymore.  It hasn't held up very well in the time since it came out.

The fake item box doesn't work in DD, but tossing other items behind you
works too.  And the problem in MKW is that if it isn't a blue shell, it's either a red shell, lightning bolt, POW block, green shell, Bullet Bill, Super Star, etc. that bogs you down.  Or all of the things I mentioned.

I apologize for my mistake there then. I tend to agree with you about Mario Kart Wii though. I feel like when one COM passes you, a bunch do all at once, each one trying to mess with you along the way.

As for the old blue shell, that thing hurt people as it made its way to the first place racer, right? I am not sure if that would be that much less annoying.

Your strategy sounds like it would work, especially against COMs. Of course, in games that use the boo item, you can just use it or the star to avoid shells too. I guess it is pretty tough to get those kinds of items while in first, so maybe my advice is actually pretty poor.

Against human players online, I feel like many of the racers would already be so far ahead by using snaking that blue shells barely did any damage.

Mario Kart is a series of racing games in which 90% of the gameplay consists of watching your character spinning around because they got hit by one unavoidable item or another.

As for Goldeneye, while it might have been good at the time, Perfect Dark is more or less the same thing only more fun.  Or if you really want to play a 007 game, The World is Not Enough has far better multiplayer than Goldeneye, and I'm pretty sure the multiplayer is the only part of Goldeneye anyone gave a shit about anyway.

A bit of an exaggeration, but whatever. Not to mention that if you have your brains where they need to be, you can counter any item.

Bluh, I really hate retroactive comparisons. But whatever.

I actually still play Goldeneye with people from time to time. It's still fun, if you can look past the outdated graphics and all that.
