  • Yeah, that one was funny when it made its debut in the 20s

    Wait what

    OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Lolcats date back to a series of 1920s postcards.
  • I actually meant the funny part, not the 20s part.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Oh. Well, I guess a better term would be "cute."

And I just checked my facts; I was wrong. They date back to 1905.
  • Clean your room little Billy
@ INUH: So it was Perry Bible Fellowship that coined the word?
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Yep. And it had absolutely nothing to do with its current meaning. Or with any meaning, much like that particular PBF strip.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
I don't get why it's so terrible that Batman has a credit card.

I mean, you know he'd be good for it.
  • Where'd he get the money from?
  • You can change. You can.
It's not the fact that Batman has a credit card. It's the NC's scream and constant rambling about it that can die in a fire.

Yeah, but my point is that the joke doesn't even make sense. How is that any more silly or goofy than anything else in the movie?

Hell, it pretty obvious that it's a joke.

I also love that it's "GOOD THRU: FOREVER".

^^Dude he has a motherfucking rocket sports car. Is there a question about his financial status?
  • You can change. You can.
I don't think anyone in gotham has ever thought that Batman is poor. they just don't link him to Bruce Wayne because he's an incompentent.
  • Then someone started using it to mean "wapanese," another dumb word, because they start with the same letter and are thus apparently extremely similar.

It's because moot thought "wapanese" was a dumb word and was sick of people using it, so he had it wordfiltered to "weeaboo" on 4chan.

    Or something.

  • a little muffled
    Yeah, that's what it was.

I always figured the joke in the PBF comic was just corporate executives playing childish games.
  • When in Turkey, ROCK THE FUCK OUT
I thought the joke was that weeaboo was the ritual smacking, and anybody who said weeaboo would have to undergo weeaboo.
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
I guess I'm the only one that still likes Candle Jack, Weaboos, and Hipsters (well making fun of the last two).

But really Chagen, stop with that verbal tic thing. It's not endearing, it's not a good gimmick, and it's DEFINITELY not cute.

^ Candle Jack is suck a stupi
  • BUMP!

    3) The way I use Weaboo (someone who is obsessed with Japan and thinks it's some glorious utopia) is a stupid word, seeing as Japanophile or "stupid, pathetic cunt, who will never, ever get laid" would suffice. Someone, in my opinion who just happens to prefer certain Eastern media over Western media is not -to me- a weaboo.

    4) Memes aren't funny at all, they stick of people have no sense of originality. They're funny the first time, but after that...never again. The only exception is when the meme is able to be varied but fit a theme (like LOLCats, which occasionally make me chuckle), but saying "mudkipz" over and over again is not funny.

    5) On that, neither is the Nostalgia Critic. All he does is scream and shout, you're not a cartoon, NC, no matter how much you wish you were.

    6) Batman and Robin isn't that bad.

    7) The Batcredit card is stupid though. I'm fine with silliness in my Batman. I loved the Adam West show after all. But the silliness still has to make some kind of sense. I can believe Batman has shark repellent spray on him, just in case. But the only way for a Batcredit Card to work would be for either a bank to give Batman credit (why would they give an anonymous man credit?) or for it to be linked to Bruce Wayne's account`which would kinda give up the whole secret identity deal. I mean I guess Bruce could claim to be Batman's financier, but still.

^ Oh, you have Tourettes as well? Mine manifests as muscle spasms (Still don't know if the swears during a full body spasm are me getting scared or the Tourettes...) and weird noises I make. May I ask what sort of words/actions you say/do?
  • ^ I'm more or less the same. My ticks usually involve me clicking my tongue (if that makes sense) and kinda jerking my shoulders back. Occasionally I'll say words without considering them.

^ Makes perfect sense (I do a similar sound. I also make a horking sound at times)
  • I often meow, and make a noise like from Family Fortunes.

What exactly is the cut-off point for "it's Touretts" anyway?

I notice that I sometimee twitch my shoulders or other minor movements. It's never been enough to affect or even for other people to notice, but I'm paranoid about everything I do anyway. It's probably not frequent enough anyway

It also seems to happen more in cold enviroments.

Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
    That's called shivering.

People do it when it's cold.

    /semiserious
  • It's not shivering. It's a very mild but noticable (to me) "snap" of my shoulders.

^^^Well, I know that I was professionally diagnosed

Also, pray that you don't have it. It can be a nasty disorder
  • I probably don't, I'm just overthinking it.

No one around me even notices these "snaps".
  • I think you have to have more than one tic. Lot's of people have little tics that they can't control, but people with Tourettes tend to have many.
  • @Chagen:

Horror is one of those things that takes time to build up a resistance to.   I saw my first R - rated movie when I was in 6th grade. It was The Thing. I had to leave the room to throw up twice.

But eventually you reach a point where the milder stuff just doesn't bother you anymore.  However, I never liked traditional horror movies like Friday the 13th.  I like stuff like Alien.

  • I like psychological horror more.

Tropes like Nothing is Scarier are fascinating to me.

The first horror movie I ever saw was The Shining, in sixth grade. It scared the crap out of me, but I loved it.

The Thing is probably my favorite horror movie.

Unless you count Seven as horror, but I wouldn't.
