  • I'm waiting for some other opinions before I weigh in.

Like AHR I'm for the removal of the chart, but I don't necessarily know that the whole article needs to go. If no one has a good reason for keeping it, though, I won't stand in the way.

^^^^And seriously, what would we be doing wrong? Conspiring to suggest that a page needs TRS?
  • You can change. You can.

That was also what I was thinking, too. I mean, I don't think our opinion is less valid because we decided to follow the rules of the site and file a complain. If this was a true raid, we wouldn't be following the rules of the side, and we'd be vandalizing instead.

All I'm saying, all we can do is follow the thread and discuss appropieately depending on what happens.

I would suggest that no one flip out on this thread if opposition shows up, in case anyone does follow up here.

We don't want to give anyone a reason to think it's anything malicious, after all.

edit: In fact, the best bet at this point would be to save any further discussion on the issue for TRS itself.
  • You can change. You can.
Yeah, let's keep this one up to something else.

Um...what was it we were discussing?

    OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Well, there was that bit about starting up a Special Efforts thread to promote awareness of the analysis namespace. Yeah, I know that was way earlier, but I just wanted to get everyone's thoughts on it.
  • Poot dispenser here
Oh yeah, we can do that.
  • edited 2011-08-03 20:23:09
    ...
    Absolutely.

Englrish Ivy's musings on not being able to quit us. And ninjas. Mostly ninjas.
  • ^ "Engrish Ivy".

Hmmm...here's a very rough draft of the OP.
So we have a namespace for analysis. Great idea. Something to build from the cataloguing that's the site's primary goal. But...it's really underused. So this thread's for a project to build up the namespace and promote awareness of it.
I thought maybe we could start with people suggesting works that would benefit the most from analysis pages. I'll collect suggestions here in the OP.

    Thoughts?
  • We should also collect ideas on how to write quality analysis, because, honestly I have no idea.
  • You can change. You can.
I think that we should also encourage said people to bring in analysis as well as works worth analysing, if that makes sense.
  • When in Turkey, ROCK THE FUCK OUT
I think there should be a little explanation of what we want in the namespace.
  • You can change. You can.
I think that quality analysis avoids Fanwank, is well sourced, and conveys very clearly the message the author is trying to give to the reader.

I like the "Crew as parts of Mal" here

    Although it needs some touching.

Or, alternatively, we can discuss what makes a good analysis proper in the thread.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    Right, then, draft 2.

The first things we need to establish, I think, are how to write good analysis (if we wind up creating a short guide on this, that'd be excellent) and what works need analysis.
  • You can change. You can.
  • Where is that character from?

Useful Notes on Bra Sizes has been cut.

Should I start that special efforts thread?
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
That was...fast. I didn't think things would go that well.
  • When in Turkey, ROCK THE FUCK OUT
    DO EET

Although I'll probably be too asleep to contribute.
  • I know I'm talking about the bra size article when we agreed not to but:

Ok, Ghilz really jumped the gun on placing the page on the cutlist citing "overwhelming support". This could be very easily reversed, and make it more difficult to get legitimately cut.

We'll see how it goes, I guess.

    And go for it, Inuh.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
But it already has been cut.
  • edited 2011-08-03 20:59:37
Yes, but based on incorrect info. I wouldn't call one page of discussion over the course of an hour or so "overwhelming support".
  • edited 2011-08-03 21:02:52
    OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
I'd say the cut was way premature.

Anyway, I made the analysis thread. Anyone who has stuff to say about it, stop  by.
  • You can change. You can.
    Link, please?

Also, eh, I don't mind. If it comes up again, I'll discuss it.
