The This Troper page got locked and deleted

Fast Eddie's tone in that thread was still annoying as hell.
And the This Troper thread on IJAM is on thin ice. Well more so than it was already.
>see This Troper
>wonder what it is and click on it's page
>"makes fun of and insults tropers"
>suddenly interested on what the insults were
I think this is what he means by not advertising it
I agree that some of the reactions to "This Troper" and criticism of the wiki in general have been a bit odd. I believe that some of the critics made legitimate points even if I do not necessarily like the way they have been stated. Still, given the "no personal attacks" rule and the general community feel that I think exists on TV Tropes as evidenced by stuff like calling people tropers and having a forum, I am not that surprised that the page was deleted. Even so, I do not believe it was justified to delete the thread in question.
I basically agree with a good deal of what Juan_Carlos said too. I think feuds and such between different sites (or users on different sites) are pretty silly as well. From what I can tell, they tend to make people defensive more than they actually change anything in addition to creating animosity out of thin air. Then again, I might just not have enough experience with them to really make a judgement there.
^^The former.

Actually, I'll be the first to say that I care about what This Troper is a symptom of, and I do care about some of the things said in Something Awful.
