I don't recall. Be more specific.
  • Does someone have the thread saved?

"The way I see it, TT bashes TV Tropes for dumb reasons."

Implying a whole lot of stuff that gets onto Troper Tales is inappropriate is a dumb reason? People constantly warn that what is written on the Net stays on the Net in regards to Facebook and Livejournal. I don't see how TvTropes is any different.

Hopefully, mod flagging will cut down on the inappropriate entries.

    OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
^^Well, regardless, I find the reason listed on the PRLC to be legit, even if there were other motivations for taking it down.

^But that hasn't been true for months. Not since The Google Incident led to Troper Tales getting reevaluated.
  • Saying "This Troper had an episode dedicated to this person" is not the same as saying "This person is a jerkface".

    OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    It does, however, import drama.
  • That's why you lock the page.

And, again, Lucky Revenant didn't start any drama over that episode.

Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
@INUH: It has been true, creepy stuff managed to leak through even after the Google Incident. The reason why is because of the "out of sight out of mind" policy most of the site took after TT was ghettoized.
  • edited 2011-07-31 16:46:27
@INUH: Which reminds me. Considering the extra effort they put into finding these entries, even using the Wayback Machine, why don't people see them as just as crazy as the people who put those entries in the first place?

    OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
That's why you lock the page.
And delete so much content there's no point in having it at all.
And, again, Lucky Revenant didn't start any drama over that episode.
The episode is drama in and of itself.

^^Yeah, but there have been people working to prevent this.

^Well, I sure do. Dunno about other people.
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
    Who says we don't?
  • Fast Eddie: Why should we care what haters think?

Me: Because it's bad press and we should try to act as professional and calm about it as possible to attempt to show anyone who might be influenced that we're not like that.

Fast Eddie: We shouldn't care what haters think. Deletes the thread
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
Fast Eddie is making the mistake of assuming bashers and the people who would be influenced by the bashers are the same people.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Eh, I still say This Troper's audience consists 99% of people who already visit TV Tropes and heard about it there and people who already hate TV Tropes.

And we shouldn't care what those specific haters think, because their points aren't valid.
  • And only one video has over 10,000 views.

    ☭Unstoppable Sex Goddess☭
...mostly because it was on the ED page.

Not only that, his avatar was modified soon after for no explainable reason, as if it were alluding to something he said.
  • Also, I'd like to point out that just because ED hates 99% of reality doesn't mean that everybody else who says bad things about us do.
  • Kichigai birthday!!
    I don't understand what's going on on Vorpy's image

Oh hey, some guy from the SA thread got some screencaps

It's kind of funny to see them epically miss the point about why it was taken down.
  • Kichigai birthday!!
    Dem artifacts
  • Hey, Shlapintogan is in that thread.
  • So, Do you condone personal attacks on the contributors of the site?

    Myrm?
  • Not when they're from people on-site, no.

Man, they are just obsessed with that Pokegirls thing.

Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
Knowing SA, they're probably mocking me as we speak.

Oh wait they're not. Color me surprised.
  • Well, Can't you see that keeping that page would've been keeping personal attacks from people on Tvtropes?
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
Is a personal attack really THAT much of a big deal? It's been said that the people that have been featured didn't really care (those that haven't been banned already that is).

    Has friends besides tanks now
    -watches This Troper episode 1-

    holy crap that sucked

But I don't think deleting the page on it was necessary. That's really unprofessional.
  • Hell, I didn't care until SA informed me that I did.

And again, having a page on something isn't the same as supporting it.
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
    From the SA thread:

    >It's sad to see that Fast Eddie cut/locked the This Troper page, but I
can see where it comes from, to be honest. It's not the right move, but I
could totally see a bunch of tropers flipping the gently caress out
over their quote getting on a video; the community right now has too
fragile egos to take something like that, especially when you consider
the way they respond to this thread.

This is a little too true for comfort.

MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
This Troper is basically the kind of unfunny vindictiveness and pettiness that people accuse Yahtzee and the NC of.

^Gee, people don't like to be eternally judged and ridiculed for something they said on the internet under anonymity by a bunch of people with a webcam. Who would have guessed.

Keep in mind, I don't think the page should have been deleted. I just have a distaste for the show.
