Impression 13: N's intro did a pretty good job of catching my attention.
  • It's so whimsical, ain't it.

Yeah, it pretty clearly indicates that, whether he's a Cloud Cuckoolander or just a guy who can talk to Pokemon (though I already know he's the latter), he's going to be interesting.

Impression 14: I should've mentioned this earlier, but I'm kinda disappointed they didn't keep the whole "your Pokemon follows you around" thing Heartgold and Soulsilver had.

Impression 15: Fuck yeah, running shoes. This generation has the most useful mom so far.

Impression 16: No autorun? That's another feature removed that HG/SS had...

Impression 17: The strength boulders look like they're actually hard to move for once.

I know, right? Bet it will come back in Pokémon Pink.

    The bastards.

    Or Ruby/Sapphire remakes. *_*

BTW, once you move the boulders, they STAY moved.

    OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
I'm not certain Ruby/Sapphier will get remakes. Generations 1 and 2 got remade because the originals weren't compatible with the current games, but from R/S onward, you can catch a Pokemon there and transfer it all the way up to B/W.

And the boulders thing is awesome.

Impression 18:Whoa, XP distribution if multiple Pokemon fight changed.
  • Shut up. I can dream, dammit.
  • edited 2011-07-21 15:39:56
On the other hand, if they remade Ruby/Sapphire, they'd probably make a lot of money because it's Pokemon, and money is probably a stronger incentive to remake a game than compatibility with current games.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    That's true...

But then I'd feel stupid about the copy of Ruby that's shipping to me right now :P
  • Yeah, lower level pokémon get more xp.

That, plus Audino, plus lucky egg, equals mucho leveling.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Heh, that would happen in the first generation where you don't need to worry about leveling Magikarp or Abra.
  • I think it's to encourage less Starter Pokémon stomp through.

Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
@AHR: If you know how to exploit shaking grass.

To explain, sometimes you'll see an individual tile of grass shaking. If you touch that tile and nothing else (they'll disappear if you trigger a battle otherwise), you'll fight an Audino (most of the time). Which give massive amounts of XP.

The trick is that the appearance of shaking grass is based on steps. So you can just run back and forth in front of a patch of grass, and one will eventually shake. Abuse this for massive experience gain.

Similar things happen in cave and water, but they don't produce Audino.
  • Kichigai birthday!!
    SHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUP ABOUT POKEMON BW

It's hard enough not to have money to buy a DS or a computer capable of running emulators

(This was a self-pitying post, you can resume talking about Black and White at this moment)
  • I swear I'm the only one who never names their Pokemon.

And when I did, it was a Throw Back to an old Pokemon fanfic of mine (not the So Bad It's Horrible one I linked earlier, a different one).

^^^Ah, good to know. Sounds like the Poke Radar, but without having to fuss with your bag.

^I didn't until I started playing again in late March.
  • Pokémon BW is the first time I started nicknaming -.-
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Impression 19:They changed the annoying beeping into a music change. YES.

  • Cakman HATES that music, it sets his aspergers off like a wild fire, or something, so he's always very quick to use a potion.

    OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Oh, I prefer the regular battle music, but it's better than just having the beeping.

Impression 20: As expected, the feature where criticals only happen when I'm trying to capture something has not been removed.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Impression 21:Well, I found another Purrloin...and it happened again. Fortunately, I was deliberately using an ineffective move, so it had 1 HP left. Introducing Priona the Purrloin.
  • Does it have limber or the other ability?

    Impression 22:Lemme check...Ew, Unburden's a really crappy ability.

Especially since Purrloin apparently can't even learn Fling.

Impression 23:I like the little notification you get when Pickup activates during a battle. Also, the fact that you can use the item during the battle. Almost makes me want to not evolve my Lillipup. Almost.
  • It does, however, learn thief. Good for stealing berries.

Impression 24:So, the first gym is...a restaurant that's obsessed with teaching people about type effectiveness? Um, okay...
  • I am seeing spoilers right now and I don't care. Not like i'm gonna play this anytime soon. WELL I CAN STILL PLAY RUBY.
