    This thread reminds me that I need to start watching some normal magical girl series...

    Moetan, Princess Tutu, and Puella Magi Madoka Magica are not really typical magical girl series... yet those are the only ones I've watched/am watching so... I guess I should do that at some point.

    I haven't yet found a magical girl series whose magical girl premise I like.

    Nanoha was meh; I'm only really a fan of the third season.

    Mai-HiME came the closest, but it has a very convoluted setting and backstory and seems to have its plot written and paced for the sake of generating drama.  I at least like some of the characters.  Then again, it's not really much of a traditional magical girl story.

    Haven't yet tried Cardcaptors Sakura or anything from the Precure series, whatever it's called.  Or Tokyo Mew Mew Mew Mew Power.  Though, for that, we get:

    Kind of. But anything can sound bad in one sentence. And I'm not sure it even qualifies as a magical girl series.

    ^^ That pretty much is what it is.  And I don't normally like things like that, but I'd say it's done well enough that it's good.
    ^ This is true too though.  That said, yes it is a magical girl series I'd say, if a weird one.

    Well, it seems that Madoka is the new Homestuck/Touhou/TTGL, in terms of it being the talk of the town.

    I like both Star Driver and Gosick better, myself, but it's up there.

    Well, anyway it's definitely the most popular show airing this season.  At least on the internet.  But anyway the point is that after the season ends it'll probably go down to more a normal level of popularity.

    Same here. I finished Outlaw Star just a couple months ago after watching a vague episode about it. I wish I had Melfina's hair.
