Fun fact: Loki actually decided to make himself a woman once for an extended period of time. By hijacking a resurrection event of the Norse gods post Ragnorok to steal Sif (Thor's girlfriend's) face to get at Thor. To say that Loki has brother issues would be an amusing understatement.

I remember people suggesting that Amon would be Marowak due to the mask like head

For Amon I would go with a three pokemon team to represent him. Marowak for the mask and martial skills, Darkrai for the terror he causes and I guess Magneton or Rotom for him arming the Equalists with tech.

There's no trace of aggression in the lion's gestures, and if the guy was really getting mauled we would have seen some shock and pain, instead of standing there and patting the big cat.
Because that's basically what a lion is; a big cat.
