On the matter of not being His type, I have a vague sense that this is actually a widespread anecdote. Of that type where you can't point to any single person you know who held that notion, but you know it's been spoken about... so on. Kind of like a friend-of-a-friend story, except with a personal misconception (heh heh, "conception") and not a ghost story or whatever.
