Well, I was walking through the city today, and saw that, apparently, Poland is opening a new embassy.
So, is Poland the Ireland of Central Europe or something? :P
From what I know, Ireland's most notable connection with potatoes is the Famine.
But the Poles are one of the top producers of potatoes, were historically one of the first nations to cultivate it and use it for food and have a shitton of dishes where potatoes are the main ingredient. Also, potato vodka. There's a stereotype of Poland as "Potato land".
Potatoes are still a staple food in Ireland. And Britain, really, but not so much as Ireland.
