Either way, the arguments that were made for why Generation I is no better than Generation V can be made for any two generations, with unique arguments for each

At least you admitted that some Generation V Pokemon are fine (somehow missed that post earlier)

Gen I did not have sharks, giant scorpions, steel snakes, tarrasques or noirampithere. They only had a sea dragon, a fire dragon and a fluffy fuckawesome dragon, but one is not enough. The only "legendaries" were Mewtwo, Mew, the 3 spanish birds and Aerodactyl's skeleton.

I don't get this "I don't like change" attitude concerning GEN I.

I like all of the old pokemon as much as the new ones.

Though I haven't played it, I've listened to some tunes of DPPl and I have to admit they were pretty good

I think the big issue with Gen 5 is that it has so many expies designed to fill roles in the Single Player game that previous Gen mons used to perfom. Hence people got a little pissy because they felt Nintendo was trying to replace their old favourites.

@Chagen: Darkrai is a very good mon. It's also supremely annoying, bordering on being completely broken. That's why people hate it. Not because it's a bad design but because he's cheap and irritating.

@Chagen: Why would you need your copy of Pearl to play B/W? You do know you can't transfer old mons over until after you've beaten the main plot right?

@Chagen: But my point is you can't use them until you beat the main game anyway. Plus you're not going to be able to transfer them unless you have second DS. Do you have a second DS available?

I agree with Chagen. A lot of the Gen V designs look like the designers were unconfident and didn't know how to improve the designs except by slapping more stuff onto them. More horns! More black patches!

Come to think of it, it's mostly just the black patch motif.

Is this similar to the anime dream world abilities?

I don't know. I don't watch the anime. 

Basically there's a tie-in website to Pokemon B/W from which you can get Pokemon. The Pokemon you get from the Dream World usually have an alternate ability that they couldn't otherwsie get. Lickitung/Lickylicky with Cloud Nine for example. 

Some abilities received are WAY better than others though. 

Delibird gets Insomnia when it's regular ability is already Vital Spirit. 

Blaziken gets Speed Boost.

It has a death-or-glory Belly Drum strategy which Gluttony and its good speed helps aid. Not quite as good as Swellow's death-or-glory "getting powered up by being set on fire" strategy, but don't count out Pokemon just because they aren't OU. I got beat by freaking Cacturne once because I forgot it could Sucker Punch.

On the topic of Gen III, Cradily is freaking awesome. But then, I have a fondness for plant monsters.

Sucker Punch is one of those moves that can really wreck your shit when used right. The best user of it is actually a Pokemon we were discussing earlier, Bisharp. 

You need to be careful when using Sucker Punch though. Do NOT use it something with the Justified ability unless you can be certain that your Sucker Punch will kill it.
