I don't think that 80% of the people we'd attract would be problem posters. It was just a commentary on the whole "lol who cares? LET'S HAVE MORE PROBLEM POSTERS" comments I saw that annoyed me so much.

Personally, I say we most bring as much people as we can. Newassholes just get banned quickly. Fairly simple.
  • I agree with Ju an .... or at least half agree.
Bring in all the folk we can... but instead of banning loads of troublemakers.... just... y'know.... troll them away.

It doesn't matter. More posters = more work for the mods. Which means more rules, more bans and more deletions. It also means less familiarity between users, reducing self-moderation and the need to be civil.
  • ... You have a point.
An annoying point.... but a point none the less.
Bigger communities are impersonal communities... the letter of the law displaces the spirit of the law and oppression becomes the status quo.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
Honestly though, the more we talk about what we do when mods aren't around.... the more suspicious Cygan is going to be when she comes back later.

... I sleep for eight hours and this is what I find.

We need to import more people who don't give a shit about TV Tropes drama or banned people that haven't posted or existed visibly elsewhere for two months.

It's easier to discuss things with people who aren't hyper aware of it's flawed sense of Poe's Law and forum/administration problems.

I'd like to see what people think of most of these subjects and problems without a past record to constantly bring up, and just take what they are reading into consideration.
