I don't want to sacrifice or downplay the the things I love because my partner doesn't like them. And I'd like to do these things with my partner too--why give up the chance to have a person to always watch anime or play games with? I'd love to be able to do things like discuss interpretations of Evangelion or wait for the next season's best anime to come to our shores with my girlfriend, instead of doing it at night secretly on message boards

It's definitely a nice thing to have shared interests.

However, it's unrealistic to expect someone to have the exact same interests.

What is probably far more important is that you and your significant other are both open-minded about each other's interests.

Unfortunately, each person's idea of "fun" is different.  I would love to spend an entire day playing Castlevania games but would not love to spend an entire day playing Puerto Rico (the board game).  Would you agree with me on either of those counts?

@Chagen: Yes, it would really help if you didn't react as strongly to everything.  This being an internet forum where no one can see you in real life, this is probably a good place for you to practice things like not reading too hard into people's posts, and not generalizing people when you don't need to.

He already did address this, and he hasn't claimed to be a person that believes the entire bible is holy anyway which doesn't make him a hypocrite but we should still PURGE THE HERETIC. I once saw him say that he considers the entire Old Testament non-canon.

I'm opposed to polyamoury more on the grounds of it being deviant behaviour from the norm.

Homosexuality is simply a switch of normal behavior. One goes for people of the same sex instead of the opposite.

However, Polyamoury is a vastly different behaviour than monoamoury.

Key words in that sentence are "to me". It's fine if you don't want to be promiscuous, but don't get up in everyone else's panties for wanting to be promiscuous.
