But the endearing character quirk matches. The less you see or know of a person, the more you can project an image in your head. Since the scenario of a meet-up of some sort is virtually impossible, it fulfills the idealized, unattainable fantasy aspect.

Escapism is all fine and dandy, but if it leads to negative feelings over the unattainability, it's better abandoned.
