That's actually pretty hilarious.
Apparently some people tried to give Spark Pay their account info.
^ What, like bank accounts?
One hopes just their TVT accounts, but a) The Internet, and b) as often as people use the same account names and passwords across sites even that could be a problem.
MY ACCOUNT WITH CITIBANK IS ACCOUNT NUMBER 528819235 AND MY PASSWORD IS toogyboogy3249871, SOMEONE PLZ LOG ME IN AND TELL ME HOW MUCH I HAVE, I SHOULD HAVE $0.005 PER NEW POST IN THE YACK FEST SECTION AND $0.002 PER NEW POST IN THE MEDIA SECTION
It seems that at least one thread is up but the thread watchlist itself is down.
I think I have a clue.
When I click the thread watchlist link the site tries to take me somewhere else before going to http://www.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/thread_watch.php .
That somewhere else is being occupied by sparkpay.
(Incidentally it's also what trips up Leechblock and causes that to make me wait to load tvtropes.org pages all over again.)
It has been ages since I went there.
>site has Content Violations now
>oh goody, they're actually cleaning up
>after the obvious shit is deleted, the only thing left is whining about grimdark stuff because it's 'sadistic fetishism'
I don't envy those P5 peeps at all.
A commission to judge if questionable content is acceptable or not.
^FU! FU! FU! You ruined my epik joke (
the fact that a committee called "The Purity 5" is a thing that actually exists will never stop baffling me, regardless of the where or why of it.
According to Google, you're the first person to call P5 that.
On my end, TV Tropes is doing fine. Hopefully, it'll stay this way.
Hey, chihuahua!
I honestly didn't know anyone still cared. The place kind of grosses me out now.
Super Lazuli:
TV Tropes says: Not that any of those are much better than Purity Five, really...Purity Five makes it sound like a boy band.
Or a special move from a JRPG.
Purity 5 would be the worst superhero/mahou shoujo team.
Hello!
I'll probably disappear from this forum shortly. I'm just establishing a place to look at just in case TV Tropes goes down again.
You'll have to forgive my mistake, I'm afraid.
If anything, it's become offensively clean, as far as I'm concerned.
Also apparently whatever they did to the code broke the Omnibot functions in #yackfest that relied on pulling stuff from TVT. Which is uh, something.
"Purity 5" sounds like a Christian boy band-sort of thing.
The forum is completely back up unless you click the "thread watchlist" link. That throws you over to sparkpay. But if you type in hat URL, it doesn't go through some interstitial page and takes you directly to your watchlist.
Everytime I read this thread title, I think of this meme:
But replaced with
TVTROPES IS DOWN
JUST DESCRIBE YOUR COMIC TO ME
^ image broken
You can highlight his post, right-click and choose "view selection source" (at least on Firefox), and the source code will have a link to the picture. It's just an image macro with a guy on the phone with the text saying
INSTAGRAM IS DOWN
JUST DESCRIBE YOUR LUNCH TO ME
And once again the site is experiencing technical difficulties, and I know it's not just me either...
^^ Instagram: The New Worse Twitter.
Anyway, I hang around Content Violations a lot, and I can confirm that at this point, most of the really sick stuff is kaput, which has made things significantly less irritating and entertaining at the same time.
At this point, I might just leave the site out of lack of things to say.
Yeah. It's down... again. Let's hope it's temporary and not that "OMG! DDOS ATTACK SO BIG WE HAVE TO SHUT DOWN!"
