    Isn't it nice how much some songs improve when you remove the lyrics?

    Okay, it still sounds like elevator music, but it's still much better. The verse instrumental part could have had potential though if it went anywhere.

    Now I'm thinking of that one scene in Amadeus where Mozart makes a mockery of Salieri by making up a Theme and Variations on the piece Salieri played on the spot.

    The problem with the Bleach manga, when it comes to pacing, is that it's more like a storyboard than a comicbook. The result is something that usually looks better than other shonen series (due to good panelwork), but glacially slow when you're following it weekly (because said panels are huge, and frequently just show a reaction, or a motion), plus, it has no backgrounds. It still has a few strengths, the dialogue is above average (again, amongst shonen, no need to bring up Cowboy Bebop, Bakemonogatari or a western show), and Kubo can be quite clever when he wants to (some bits of characterization are surprisingly well done, the most recent arc managed to create a very interesting atmosphere, and he's very self aware), but you'd still be better off watching/reading FMA.

    Or Legend of the Galactic Heroes.
