    I'm not too surprised at the nuking of the TVT thread. It was beyond derailed near the end. ^That too. 

    Now I have a dilemma , should I acquire the "leaked" version of minecraft 1.8 or should I wait for it and play recettear or borderlands instead.

    One that is the official forum. Two the download links lead straight to the minecraft servers Three there is reason to believe that the creator of minecraft, Notch or someone else on the team is responsible for the leak and four Notch is fine with people using it.
