  • You can change. You can.
I actually find Angel at its worse infintely more bearable than Buffy at its worse. It may be because I think Angel's cast was far more interesting, whereas Buffy's lost a lot of its charm when Oz went out, for starters
  • Isn't that just an Action RPG then?

Yeah, but I don't really like action RPGs, so... yeah.

  • JC: I loved Anya, and I loved Tara, and I loved Andrew, so I guess the charm stayed for me, although I did miss Oz greatly.
  • You can change. You can.
Anya was cool, but she really took a while to grow on me. So did Tara. And I dunno, I guess I never felt as much empathy towards them. Whereas Wesley, Gunn and Angel always made me feel somewhat...I dunno, empathetic, I guess.
  • the Mako sequences still sucked, though.
The Mako sequences wouldn't have been so bad if they'd just reduced the height and incline of all of the slopes you have to climb in that fucking thing. The story worlds aren't so bad, mostly because of the lack of slopes.

Also, is there such a thing as flesh-coloured paint?

  • Heh. Tara was a weirdy. I guess I just liked her when she said things like "aren't all british people supposed to be nice and...polite?" but the tone is what made it of course.

Although, Angel had my other two favorite characters, Lorne and bebbehConnor.
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
Mass Effect 1 was a pretty good Action RPG, the shooting mechanics were a bit clunky but it was fun.

Mass Effect 2 was totally a 3rd-person shooter with RPG elements though. Admittedly, I did like the new shooting mechanics, apeing Gears of War or no. Though it had a worse overall plot, but better characters.

MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
Eh, ME1's plot wasn't anything to write home about anyhow, and the Bioware formula is made or broken by it's characters which is why I still like DA2 in spite of its flaws.

As much as I disliked Mako sequences, I preferred them to scanning for Iridium.
  • The Hammerhead was fun (and a much better drive than the Mako, shitty health or no) but aside from Overlord there was also pretty much no exploration aspect to it like the Mako had.
  • You can change. You can.
I don't see what's so bad about ME2's plot. Isn't it supposed to be like... Seven Samurai in space?
  • A lot of people's problem is that there isn't really all that much plot. There's the opening, Horizon, the Derelict Reaper and then the end-game. That's pretty much it. The rest of the game (and indeed the Lion's share of it) revolves around recruiting crewmembers and gaining their loyalty.

I'm fine with it. Devs said it was their equivalent to Empire Strikes Back, and I think it works. Plus there's dozens of Chekov's Guns waiting to be fired.

    Huh.

well, it might be just me, but i don't see what's bad about an episodical plot.

anyway, all i know about ME2 is that it shameless ripped off Murray Gold's OST for Doctor Who. And that's about it.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
I liked ME2. It didn't have much of a main plot, but most of the story was recruiting your crew and characterizing them, and I liked it.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    Argh. Most. Frustrating. Conversation. Ever.
  • You can change. You can.
    What is it?
  • Note to self: refrain from placing permanent black marker in mouth.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    Well...

basically, I was texting with a girl I've been interested in since high school. She suddenly starts talking about how the guy I thought she was dating dumped her a few months ago. Cue us discussing romance for awhile.

And...then she says "don't worry. You just haven't met the right person yet."

    Argh.
  • You can change. You can.
Could be worse. She could have figured you liked her and use you as a rebound.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Given the geographical distance between our colleges, I doubt I'd be the first person she'd pick for that.
  • You can change. You can.
from my experience, physical distance never manages to be a deterrent towards someone trying to do that to me.

But eh, different people and all that. Still, it'd be a bad idea, regardless of whether she is close or not.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    Oh, yeah, I know that.

FYI, though, I think it was 5-6 months ago that she got dumped.
  • Hell yeah, thunderstorm's on the approach.
  • You can change. You can.
Oh. So no rebound. Yay, I suppose. Try to ask her to watch a movie when you get back home or something?
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Yeah, I definitely need to meet up with her sometime, whether romantically or not.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
In other news, I'm hungry, it's midnight and the only food in the apartment is a bag of cookies.
  • You can change. You can.
    eat 'em. duh

also, same. without the cookies. but with mango.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Well, yeah, that's the obvious solution; I just wish I had actual food food.
  • You can change. You can.
    steal it. duh
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
You're at a college, right? There are usually places open around them at this time.
  • You have an apartment and I don't so I am required to feel envy rather than sympathy. Sorry! ^_^
