    Been to a feminist festival today, since two of my friends had a performance there (they have a band, and the organization that organized the festival sponsors talented female artists whom they discover).


    It was really good. Worth mentioning is that I got free candy (yay!) and a CD compilation of 17 songs by 17 female (groups of) musicians sponsored by the organization in question. I have yet to listen to it.

    U.S. Senator Daniel Inouye (D-HI), the second-longest-seving senator (after Robert Byrd (D-WV)) and also badass mofo in WWII, has passed away at age 88.

    Hawaii and Massachusetts will be having rapid turnover in their Senate delegations, assuming Kerry does leave to become Secretary of State.  Now-junior Hawaii senator Daniel Akaka didn't seek re-election, and will be succeeded by Mazie Hirono (D-HI-02) from the House; now that Inouye has passed away I guess there will probably be a special election (or possibly a governor's appointment) to fill the seat.  Over in Mass, Kerry's leaving will mean another special election for his seat, making that the junior senator which means Liz Warren will become the senior senator.

    A DS Lite. I figure it would be harder to find old DSes, and thus would cost more (turns out this isn't true but they cost the same anyway). And DSi's are still new enough to be outside my price range.

    For what its worth the thing's battery is shot to hell and it basically needs to be kept plugged in at all times anyway.
