Oh, that's right, it's Eiken!
God, and to think I had almost forgotten what little I'd seen of that horrendous melonfest...
I read a (very) little bit of the original manga several years ago.
it was....well I dunno. that screenshot really tells you all you need to know. It has gargantuan tits and gargantuan tit-based humor. Elsewise it's pretty generic from what little I remember.
Took a quick glance at the Wikipedia article for Eiken and... it has an official English dub. FFS.
and yet Nichijou doesn't.
what sort of world do we live in.
There's sort of an explanation for Nichijou - unfortunately, Bandai Entertainment decided to stop all new releases before they could include Nichijou in their catalog, and no other company (American or otherwise) seems interested in publishing dubbed DVDs or Blu-Rays. And the anime's rather poor sales back in Japan aren't helping at all.
That really sucks, because SC2 was an absolutely fantastic game on its own merits. You could remodel and reskin the entire thing with unrelated characters and environments, and it would still be outstanding. The controls were smooth, there was a lot of move diversity and its combos were constructed in such a pick-and-choose manner that it was a fighting game appropriate for beginners and experienced players alike.
Like I said, I enjoyed a significant amount of the fanservice in SC2. But the gameplay kept me coming back, and if I have an overriding need for fanservice, the internet is for porn.
I was talking about a game completely unrelated to Soul Calibur.
Also
...really? Have you even played the game?
In that case, disregard, cocks, ect.
More, in relation to his Tomb Raider hate, it's a good game, given bad publicity. End of story.
I really want that game. And I have to say, why does everyone keep referencing to Lara getting her ass kicked as some kind of fetish deal?
Because after playing Tomb Raider and knowing Lara for about fifteen years, the new take on her was more shocking than anything.
e: shocking in an 'interesting' way, not shocking in an "interesting" way.
Fanservice, objectification, etc, etc.
So! Let's talk about something that doesn't make people uncomfortable!
Does anyone know when Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix is set to release? Or has it already, or...
JP release date is March 14th. Nothing for anywhere else at the moment.
They have said Fall 2013 for everywhere else.
Might list my semi-blind thoughts on Tomb Raider as I play the PC version tomorrow. Might make a thread.
The new sim city is pretty sad. The four themes it promised turned out to be four themed buildings. The cities are too small to really do anything since within a few minutes you're already hurting for space. Game is also way too easy since you seem to get infinite residential demand no matter what you do.
^ and shitty ea microtransactions for that game yaaaay
isnt being money vampired fun
I'm thinking of doing a livestream of me sequence-breaking Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance on the 23rd.
* emulator (because it's easier to deal with messing up and getting SB tricks done); savestates will be used liberally (as this is a demonstration run, not a challenge run)
* will NOT show off spellbook combos
* will probably not hit level 50 (and show that last shop)
* will attempt to fill bestiary
* will probably not aim for 100% items, depending on how lucky I am with item drops, because it just takes too long
* will get and place all furniture
* will show all three endings
* will not show Maxim mode or Boss Rush mode
* spoilers will be discussed freely (because sequence will be broken)
Anyone who wants to watch have a time preference? My time zone at that point will be Eastern Daylight Time, which is GMT-4.
But Bible + Magic is hilariously broken!
I just finished a Spacechem level with reactants weird enough that I had to pull out linear algebra to balance it.
The next one involves creating L-DOPA. From the histogram, a vanishingly small handful of people have solved it at all.
Is Spacechem anything like real chem?
Anyway, between now and Sunday, Gamestop is offering -25% when buying three pre-owned games.
I could pick up the following two games and try to pull another one out of thin air somewhere (maybe FFT:tLW or CvDXC for PSP):
* Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (PSP) for $19.99
* Endless Ocean (Wii) for $12.99
Note that I don't own a PSP or a Wii (though I do have access to a Wii currently, and for the foreseeable future).
Is this a good idea?
SpaceChem definitely resembles real chemistry. It's basically a puzzle game about using nuclear reactors to mix chemicals, and it involves real-world elements and everything.
Man, I really ought to start playing it again.
I think I'm going to go pick up a copy of Tomb Raider today.
slime edit: I got it.
Spacechem resembles chemistry about as much as Tomb Raider resembles history. It's just a framing device, albeit one they did a respectable amount of research on (well, other than the whole Thor-in-Greece business) and it adds considerably to the game's setting and how the play comes off.
Like, most of the compounds you work with are real things, and a lot of the assignments (turn these inputs into these outputs) are based around actual chemical processes, and the people who submit puzzles to Research Net tend to follow suit.
But mostly it's just a vehicle for programming puzzles, and it's in no way treated as a strict limiting factor. I mean, most actual chemists would raise an eyebrow at the creation of polycyclic hydrocarbons from single atoms, but...
Recently finished Dragon Age. Felt kind of... underwhelming. I made a couple of decisions that I soon found poorly thought out. Nah, not in the sense of gameplay, like spending XP on useless skills. It was, like, you know, several of my choices concerning romance/Landsmeet/Archdaemon left me with an impression that my character didn't really make the best decision. Hmph, and I didn't expect I'd engage myself emotionally in this game.
It'd be unexpected if you ever found yourself making all the right choices on your first playthrough.
what's a programming puzzle?
if that's a joke, I don't get it.
It's a puzzle where you set up a solution, then run it to see if it works. Might not be explaining it well.
Either you're not or I'm dense. Because that seems to me to be the uh, opposite of a puzzle.
