You know, I found Ganon's characterization in Wind Waker rather striking.
When I was a kid, Ganon always seemed like this Darkseid-ish figure of ultimate evil and power. He didn't need a reason to be evil or greedy or selfish: he was the reason. He was simply the idea of evil given human flesh to my 10-year-old self. Wind Waker made him out to be just another man consumed by selfishness, and I don't question the validity of that interpretation. It just came as a shocker to me.
Dammit, Heyton, stop charging into melee. I can take all the enemies on my own, but you can't, and if you die, the quest fails T_T
What is DDO?
Dungeons and Dragons Online.
Thats still Freeplay right?
Yep, but with paid premium content.
How limited is the freeplay then?
As far as I recall, special transactions are made via Turbine points, a special ingame currency that you can earn both in-game and via payments. You can get most of the content without paying anything.
Cool
Not bothering with this; first, I don't have time; second, I haven't figured what to do with Eden Eternal. Though I've effectively dropped that game, just not officially.
Created a second character. Went Sorcerer this time. It's legitimately a lot harder to solo as a spellcaster, but summon monster really helps.
So what times do you guys play?
ARGH STOP TEMPTING ME, YOU PEOPLE
By the way, has anyone else here played GoCrossCampus (basically this massively multiplayer Risk-like game)?
Just whenever I have a minute, really.
Oh, a piece of advice for DDO: If you look under the options, there's a control preset called "FPS controls." It is much, much smoother than the default.
quick question, would any of you guys and dolls be able to understand my thick lancasterian accent?
Possibly?
Anyway, I'm attempting to play Minesweeper without using flags. It is not easy.
Isn't it just the same as with flags, but a lot slower?
No; it's a lot harder to keep track of what's going on.
The lead designer of Amalur just got hired by Turbine, the company behind DDO. Awesome.
I'm glad the guy found another job. I consider Amalur a bad game (at least from what I played), but it wasn't terrible enough to justify what happened to the studio. By the same token, though, I wouldn't consider this a boon to his new employer. Amalur writes the book on fantasy cliches and does a completely mediocre job of it.
Amalur was...I dunno how to put it...I assume everyone would understand my opinion of it if I said it was like WoW but less boring?
So I just found out that not only does my Necromancer (literally the most fragile class in the entire game) not learn Create Undead until level freaking six, that's also the same level my cleric learns it.
What the hell did I bother making her for, then? Christ. I was expecting to get something to raise at least like, a skeleton at level two or so.
So I just finished Spec Op.
The part that got me the most was
That said, I think video games are at a severe disadvantage at telling this kind of story, especially considering the current market. It's weird to see achievements for the horrific things that happen in the story and I don't get why they have the pornographic slo-mos of headshots.
That said, it's easily the best shooter I've ever played and deserves its accolades a fuck of lot more than other shooters with over-exposed stories *cough*MassEffect*cough*
Generally, starting around an hour from now, or any time after that.
Usually, I play whenever I'm bored or if someone jumps on IRC and asks me to jump on.
Oh, I will also log in in about an hour and a half if anyone wants to play then.
(Please reply if you would like to play, though, so we can grab each other's character names and stuff.)
Are any of you playing a "Tarmala"? Because s/he tried to invite me to her party several times.
Anywhatsit, I'll copy/paste my characters names in a moment. I ditched the wizard and now have a ranger as my backup character because yay arrows.
My character name is Nedi, not Tarmala.
Iexa Ietalla is my Ranger. Level 1, only did a few quests with her thusfar.
Usar Lebat is my cleric. Level 3. He knows Summon Monster II and can also summon an Iron Defender via an Enhancement (because screw logic).
Those are both Humans. And Usar kinda looks like Ganon.
also I cannot figure out how to use the Favored Enemy feature for the ranger.
Furthermore, I am on the Khyber server.
Anyway, I'mma go play Pokeymanz. Lemme know if y'all wanna do something laterish.
