I found it to be genuinely a little sad, because I actually liked that Pansear and Herdier. They were cool Pokemon, and if they hadn't died, they could have been awesome Pokemon.
But then, Kynim did draw pages like this and this, which helped to create that sense of sadness by making them feel like actual characters who had a lot more promise in them before they died.
Could you link it? I'm curious.
I guess I felt a bit of empathy for Herdier, but the circumstances of their deaths just seemed like sad wastes at best. It is pretty anticlimactic that they died to a bunch of Goddamn Bats, is what I was trying to say.
I also like how Kynim tries to inject some of her ideals in the comic, which all too often falls on its ass but works in this case because of the nature of the original game.
I have no idea where it is. I saw it probably six or seven months ago.
Well, they actually died to the one Throh.
I agree that it probably could have been done a lot better- like, actually showing the fight, or something.
But still.
Heck, I broke rules here and there on my Nuzlocke because I was more concerned about making it a good story (although you can only do so much before you go, "Fine, I get it! The NPCs hate my Zoroarks! Sheesh!")
A Nuzlocke can be a good story without alterations, but it's partially based on writing skill and partially based on your luck then
Borderlands 2 first campaign dlc has been announced and the release day has been set. This is the first time I've been excited for dlc so so soon after the release of a game.
How is this not, what is it, "day 1 DLC" or whatever it's called?
Because day 1 DLC is DLC that's available when the game is released, i.e. on day 1.
Huh, the same date the Mechromancer DLC was meant to be released. On that note, Gaige is awesome.
I got around to finishing Spec Ops: The Line.
I got then ending where I shot the reflection of Konrad, and went quietly with the Army.
It felt...hollow. Not just the ending, but everything I did, every shot I fired. After a while I just felt numb to it all after a while. I just wanted to end it, so I just kept marching forward. Just like Walker.
What a fantastic game.
^Yeah, the game is a masterwork of engagement created through lack of fun.
IJBM: The Walking Dead Episode 4 is out and I have to go to bed.
IJBM - The Walking Dead's franchise popularity in a market that is saturated with zombie stuff. Like seriously, how does this even work?
But Alk! Zombies are so cool and awesome and wouldn't it be great if a zombie apocalypse happened right noooooooooooow?
(if the massive sarcasm didn't tip you off, I cannot stand the "zombie genre", I have no problems with the creatures themselves, but when they're the only thing you're bringing to the table, you're officially lame)
I'm agreed regarding the TV show and comic, which are pretty much generic zombie story # 123876a and 123876b, but the game is truly something special, and I would argue that it isn't about zombies so much as it's about your gut reactions to stressful situations.
So it's like real stressful situations in that you have sharply limited information and no matter what you do, something is going to bite you in the ass and oh god oh god it keeps getting worse?
I...actually can't tell if you're being sarcastic there or not >.>
Serious. You should know by now that when I'm being sarcastic I pull out all the stops and shit just gets weird or openly hostile.
Yeah, fair enough.
I did say that I needed to go to bed half an hour ago, though. Blame my lack of sleep.
I read that as lack of sheep.
Blame my lack of sheep.
To bed all of you! This is getting ridiculous! Don't make me come over there and tuck you in and read bedtime stories!
Oh no! not the bedtime stories!
No you can't have milk and cookies dunkass. We want to get you settled down and go to sleep. So uh look, your bedtime book choices are either Naked Lunch or Gravity's Rainbow. Pick one.
The Walking Dead games kind of do seem to still be generic zombie stories. The noteworthy part is that they happen to also be fairly well-written and by being adventure games, don't really have the same gameplay as any other zombie-themed games on the market.
The premise of a story and what the narrative is about are not always the same thing.
so like I am currently at late game easy mode in Kingdom Hearts 3D : Dream Drop Distance preparing for New Game+
and like
why the FUCK is it harder to win a battle for a minor synthesis material
than it is to defeat the final boss(and the semi-final boss, which is worse than the final boss) twice
like what the hell game developers
6 Aura Lions
all of them can surround me (in fact just two of them is enough to surround me with their mobility and ranged attacks) which makes blocking significantly less useful
all of them can teleport so fuckin' often the system assist lock on can't catch up and makes all homing attacks go "WTF?!"
all of them have either insane as fuck defense stats or they have some sort of damage nullifier (I'm not sure which one it is but in any case dat HP goes down far too slowly)
they can constantly interrupt my healing spells if they want to
they can also interrupt any of my attacks and my AOE attacks take too long to cast for them to be useful
they can fucking inflict TIME STOP on me
they're GENERIC ENEMIES (not bosses)
I have to kill them all under a goddamn time limit (which seems to go down even when I have time stop inflicted on me for...some reason)
and I have to win three times
just for some minor synthesis material that's rare for no good reason (think of something like "Red Leaf" being harder to get than "Super Ultra Awesome Golden Leaf Worth 10 Times More In The NPC Store")
i'll probably give up soon enough and just go for the significantly less efficient version of what I am trying to synthesize
>_>
oh also I forgot to mention
they can't stagger
so I can't just keep hitting them to stop them from teleporting or something
Consistent difficulty has never been the KH series' strong point.
First time I've played Parasite Eve in a decade. I don't get why Final Fantasy is considered the Square opus when this exists.
Because Final Fantasy is more popular, obviously.
Finished TWD episode 4. In the majority on every decision. Final group: Lee, Ben, Omid, Christa.
^^Yeah I don't get that either.
