Ah, I see.
Er... that's patently false.
Outside of Volt Switch/U-turn, A.I trainers in Pokemon NEVER switch out. Otherwise Clair would switch to Kingdra every time someone tried an Ice attack, for instance.
>B/W2 comes out tomorrow.
Well, fuck. I guess this will be the first time I won't be buying a Pokemon game at release.
The AI switches if it's Pokemon cannot do a thing to your Pokemon. i.e. You have a ghost type, and their Pokemon has all normal moves.
I think they also avoid "not very effective" moves when possible, though I'm not positive about that, since it's been awhile since I played.
How does it deal with stat-changing moves like Growl?
IIRC in recent generations it's a scaling AI depending on the opponent. General upstarts with their Rattata will be idiots, but bosses and Battle Frontier will choose appropriate attacks.
Do they use advanced tricks such as substitute and swords dance tricks?
^Some gym leaders and other bosses have simple strategies like that. Protect+Earthquake is pretty common in AI Double Battles.
Yeah I need to finish Black as well.
As is Perish Song + Protect spam. And OHKO spam because they're well aware that while you need a streak they only need to get lucky once.
Holy crap Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption is going for $2.39 on GOG right now. Definitely getting that right now.
Just had to start over because the game wouldn't save properly T_T
Experimenting with compatibility stuff now.
Just got turned.
Impressions on Redemption so far: combat is awful, but story has a lot of promise. The fact that your character is premade means that it has a much more personal focus than Bloodlines, which was more about the setting.
But considering that VtM is a tabletop setting, the game should focus on the setting.
Still, I might get the game.
So, still doing a Nuzlocke run of Black.
Just swept N's entire team in Nimbasa with a Level 26 Simipour.
People like to rag on the monkeys, but Simipour has been solid, man. He's had my back the entire trip, almost as much as Snivy has.
So THAT'S why you give the Serperior line so much respect!
You're doing a Nuzlocke with it!
I've done Nuzlocke runs before with Oshawott, too.
I give Serperior so much respect because Serperior really is a great Pokemon. Well, that and, the first time I played Black, I Nuzlocked it (blind), and chose Snivy as my starter.
Serperior, Archeops and Reshiram were the only Pokemon still alive after I beat Ghetsis. ;_;
ANYONE would have respect for Pokemon that survive Nuzlocke runs!
Especially blind ones!
That Archeops alone carried me through the Elite Four, half of N's Pokemon and two of Ghetsis'.
Archeops is a bro and anyone who disses Archeops deserves their fate.
Archeops definitely suits my playstyle, but that ability...
The ability is functionally useless because nobody ever got Archeops below half health.
My friend taking a non-TGM version of Tetris to the limit.
Oshawott and name him Bushido.
Tepig and call him Professor Pyg
