    Has friends besides tanks now

there's an argument to be made that Rock is the worst of them, though possibly it's better than Fire.

It's tough to say; Rock hits Flying, but so does Ice, and Fire hits Steel, which, as has been said, is huge, and it hits Scizor and Ferrothorn, two of the best pokemon in the game, 4x effectively.

I remember that there was an analysis of gen 4 OU which determined that based on the statistics of the time, Fire was the best attacking type (largely due to Scizor). But I was more speaking overall than in the current OU environment specifically. Probably from that point of view you can't really rank the types in order, but you could come up with a tier system. Something like:

Tier 1 (god tier) - Fighting, Fire, Ground, Ice, Rock (Attacks you're always happy to use.)
Tier 2 (good tier) - Electric, Dark, Dragon, Ghost, Grass, Water (Attacks you'll always use when STAB and will use for coverage when applicable.)
Tier 3 (meh tier) - Bug, Flying, Normal, Psychic (Attacks you'll rarely use for coverage but will always use for mono-type STAB and often use for dual-type STAB.)
Tier 4 (shit tier) - Poison, Steel (Attacks you'll almost never use except for mono-type STAB.)

Obviously this doesn't take into account the quality of the actual moves, though: Metagross uses its Steel STAB rather than Psychic because Meteor Mash is such a good move, a number of dual-type Steels (most notably Scizor) like to use Bullet Punch for priority, etc etc. A lot of the positions are also debatable.

  • Definitely not gay.

Any STAB pursuit user with technician.

  • a little muffled

Technician is an interesting ability that should just be on more things in general.

Nah. Technician is not distributed well specifically because it's so good.

Ah, I know! Linoone with Adaptability!

  • No rainbow star
The pixies with abilities unique to them

Imagine if, once every five turns, Uxie opened its eyes and a random attack of the foe's Pokemon was disabled for five turns or until switched? Or if any damaging attack used on Azelf had a 1/10 chance (throwing random numbers here) of causing the attacker to be afflicted with something like full paralysis the next turn, and disabled even switching until the next turn? Or if any contact attack on Mesprit sharply reduced the attack stat that the attack used (No emotion behind the attacks, so less oomph)?

I dunno. At best it gives you a 90 BP attack; lots of types already have something as good or better than that. It's only really good if you've got STAB priority.
