ITT: Suggest an interesting change for a pokemon
Like, give it one more move, or a different ability choice, or something, that would make it significantly more common competitively, if not break it. Or just something hilarious. It doesn't even have to make sense.
I'll start:
Ferrothorn with Dry Skin
Dusclops with Rapid Spin
Skarmory with Prankster
And these are pretty tame; I could probably come up with much worse.
Comments
Let Masquerain keep Surskit's typing. You go from the cool combination of Bug/Water to a generic Bug/Flying
^ Almost posted that, but I felt that it was too obvious. :P
^^ Like, say . . . Dusclops? Or what about Bronzong?
Bronzong with Recover. Perish the thought.
Victini with Contrary.
Snorlax with Slack Off would be good.
Also true. And/or Snorlax with Huge Power?
Regigigas and Slaking with Huge/Pure Power.
Incidentally, you may be interested in Balanced Hackmons. Pure Power Slaking is pretty popular in that.
Make all the generic start of game birds Flying instead of Normal/Flying
@nohaynicklibre: That actually makes them largely worse.
Unless water/ground has a weakness I'm forgetting.
^ GRASS
^^^ It would make them hitable by ghosts but also resistant to fighting (assuming you were replying to me)
^^ It's 4 times weak against Plant,and I think it's also weak to Ice
^^^^ Grass.
That's where I got the idea, actually. Balanced Hackmons seems really fun.
Smeargle with Illusion? It could pose as literally any pokemon on your team, unlike Zoroark, who can only impresonate a handful of useful pokemon. Too bad its stats are so shit, but even then, it could play some amazing mindgames.
^^ Well, if we're giving pokemon two abilities, might as well give Blaziken Moxie on top of Speed Boost.
^ But the point of giving it to Smeargle is that it could literally be anything. Zoroark is such a disappointment because of how shallow its movepool is, given the ability it has.
@nohaynicklibre:
Going from neutral to resistant to fighting is less useful than getting free switches on ghost moves and having an extra STAB.
@Icalasari: Shedinja with Sturdy and Magic Guard would be better, on account of being literally impossible to kill.
Replace Bug with Dark, and we have our first officially invincible pokemon, as long as it has non-contact moves to use against, like, Cofagrigus.
Except that it still loses to Fire, Ghost, Dark, Flying, and, Rock moves?
Needs to be either Wonder Guard + Magic Guard on Sableye/Spiritomb, or Sturdy + Magic Guard on Shedinja.
Oh, right. Well, then, make it Ghost/Dark. Forgot that.
^ Yeah, those work too. Shedinja would be funnier, though, since it only has 1 HP.
@Nyktos Oh yeah, I forgot about the STAB. Then I guess you are right.
My problem is that I don't play competitively, only the main story. Since you find way more fighters than ghosts there I was biased
Also, a lot of the ones we've used so far were pretty obvious, if it's not too annoying for me to point that out. I'm trying to think of some more creative ones at the moment.
Forretress with Flash Fire?
Flareon with Flare Blitz
I can hope. ;_;
We all hope for that, man.
Ooh, ooh. Staraptor with Magic Guard? Loses Reckless for extra recoil damage, but it can then spam recoil moves without the recoil. Mm. Recoilless Scarfed Brave Bird.
