Relatedly; every time the BBC finds a few idiots and makes it a story (and also doing that venn-diagramming "I'm totally part of the relatively okay group" when you're clearly super not). tl;dr, How many Milos do we even need?

if you ask me whether I consider myself a liberal, my answer is "ehh, maybe."
if you ask me whether I consider myself on the political left, my answer is "what the heck even is the political 'left' anyway?"
if you ask me whether I consider myself a conservative, my answer is "I would call myself that, even though a lot of people would disagree."
if you ask me whether I consider myself on the political right, my answer is "what the heck even is the political 'right' anyway, and why would I want to associate myself with the jerkwads who like that label so much?"
I (personally) think it's best to let go of your most-extreme viewpoints if you're getting what's best for everybody in return.
As for me, I'm probably like a fake-liberal* (because I have an unhealthy love-maybe-worship for some not-terrible form of capitalism).
*socially liberal but pretty much nowhere else, I guess I think the financial industry needs a serious overhaul and regulation is great wherever but that might just be because of my non-political bias for everything to be hyperorganized
The true conclusion behind this is that intent isn't magic in the sense that your personal behaviour and viewpoints (and the behaviour and views of others towards you) are almost meaningless if you do effective work in taking down or changing these structures. Of course, what constitutes effective work is really hard to measure, so my plans for more diversity among CEOs due to plutocrats holding all the levers of power might sound plausible on paper to the average follower.
