I'm not even around children. I've been sick for most of 2011 out of school, so not counting trips to the hospital a state over, I haven't seen anyone a year younger then me, much less any lolis.

The last few replies kinda shows part of the problem. A person can like lolicon works without wanting to hurt real kids. We need to stop considering Pedophilia as some form of disgusting and illegal social faux pas and realize that it's actually a mental disorder that we could be treating with therapy -- if real pedophiles (not lolicon fans) weren't terrified of being arrested and basically becoming pariahs if they are found out.
And TheDarkEricDraven, that explains a LOT about the bannings. I was banned for posting that we don't have to block all discussion of porn tropes, cause we can be neutral in their discussion, as well as defending Lotte No Omocha. In both cases I was mocked by random Goons in the SA thread right before being banned. I was making fun of the idea that SomethingAwful was going to become the new unofficial mod team of TVTropes -- "Can't have that trope, SA will mock us" -- but... that's all kinda scary.

KiTA - That's a bit inconsistent, because if you admit paedophilia is a mental disorder (and I agree) then you can't really try to argue that it's in any way a good or even a neutral thing. It's like saying depression or schizophrenia is somehow neutral.
I wouldn't say people who are attracted to underage kids should be pariahs in the same way that actual molesters are and the attraction isn't illegal. But it is a problem and they should get help, because at some point the molesters were that way too.
As for it being a social faux pas, I think too much information about the most vanilla sex in a social setting is probably a social faux pas, let alone extreme stuff like this.
Well, I like real children too, remember, but I would never act on it. Unless I was warped to some anime world where lolis totally had sex all the time or something. That would be awesome, but I doubt it would happen. Dating? Great. Sex, however, will never be anything but harmful for a child.
And yeah, SA is pretty much the mod team. I think Feo was banned after they brought him up too. Something about underage knife porn. I don't dislike SA-I was even planning getting an account there, but then they quoted me arguing against pedophilia being a mental disorder and fuck, there went that. In many ways, Pedophilia really is a mental disorder. It's not healthy at all to be attracted to children, and talking about it in private with a psychiatrist is probably the most healthy way to deal with it. Just sitting on the issue and pretending that it's not a big deal, regardless of whether you're acting on it or not, just worries the fuck out of people who urge you to seek help.

My view: Paedophilia is a mental disorder and if people who have it can come to terms with it and confess to a doctor (without acting on their urges) then they should be isolated and given treatment to help them get over their issues.
Acting on those urges in any form, however, is disgusting, wrong and that you are so casual about it sickens me to my very core. It actually makes me physically sick to think so many people can look at shit like lolicon and think that on any level that it is okay.
And there is a world of difference between The Adventures of the Paedomagnet Succubus (or whatever it's called) and Lolita. Given that AoftPS is supposed to turn you on while Lolita is supposed to make you angry.
